I'm running a 5k 3/15 and training for a half on 5/3. Ideally I would do 9 miles that weekend as part of my half training plan. Normally I do my long run on Sunday but thought I would do it Saturday instead. As of today, I think I have a real shot at a 5k PR if I run on fresh legs.
I can't really afford a setback week as I hurt my foot 2 weeks ago so have scaled back on mileage recently. I could possibly do my long run on Friday afternoon.
So - what do I do?
Do the long run Saturday and hope for the best Sunday? Skip the long run, rest Saturday and go all out Sunday? Try my best to squeeze in the long run Friday?
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
Marathon training has clearly warped my opinion of what is a reasonable amount of mileage to get in mid week. There is more daylight now, so you shouldn't have too much of a problem getting 9 in on Friday.

I can't add additional mileage Sunday, unfortunately. I think trying to do it Friday is the best plan, especially with daylight savings time being next weekend.
