I feel like I should give my coworker a small thank you gift because he has covered for me while I'm on leave. We're not close at all, he's simply the unlucky soul that was assigned my workload by our boss. He really hasn't had to do much other than some basic admin tasks and weekly reporting. (Like he hasn't been tasked with selling anything for the past 13 weeks so now I can go back to work and sell the crap out of some stuff!! Money money money!!)
Anyway, I don't know much about this guy other than he likes coffee and has a dog. I'm thinking Starbucks card and dog treats, kind of like "enjoy your weekend now that you don't have to worry about gathering my reports for Monday." My mom makes homemade dog treats because she prefers know exactly what she's feeding her dogs. Do you think that would be lame to gift those?
I think that's a really nice idea, and I'd love to receive those gifts!
I will add, though, that sometimes homemade dog treats freak me out because a lot of them are made with peanut butter, and H and my brother are both allergic. So I'd make sure to give him some that don't have peanuts and let him know what's in them. I know most people don't have to worry about that, but just in case!

Good point! I know he's not allergic, but I will have her make peanut/nut free ones just in case!
That sounds nice of you! I'm sure he'd appreciate it. I don't know anything about dog treats but homemade ones sound like they would be unique/a special treat so that's fun.
Sounds like a great gift and very nice and thoughtful of you!
When do you have to go back? And where has the time gone...I would have to go back at the end of this month (I get 6 wks bonding in addition to my "birth recovery"). It would be nice to have something to do other than C (and more adult interaction) but I'm thankful to not be going back...mostly because I despise the drive!

I go back in two weeks. I'm ready to go back, but I will miss M since he's just becoming fun to be around. I will also miss being able to EBF him. I still plan to BF when we're together and pump while away. I just feel really bad about taking his beloved boobs away, lol.
My H is staying home with him the first week, then my mom the second week. I talked to my boss this morning...I have to fly out to a meeting on M's first day of daycare Fly out Monday, meeting Tuesday, hopefully flying home early Wednesday so I can go scoop him up from daycare by noon that day!
