It just opened this past week, in a shopping center that I never go to, and don't even drive by very often.
We were on our way home from picking up some plants at the nursery, and DH decided to come home that way because I think the other way is boring.;p We were getting ready to turn right and I happened to see the sign and asked DH if he had seen it before. Even though we hadn't had lunch and were starving (it was after 2) and we really wanted to go home, we just had to check out the store.
Other than the new store smell (adhesives and things that make me ill), I wanted to move in. The store manager said that it is a new setup for The Tile Shop, and that the displays are different too. They had gorgeous vignettes, and display boards with several tiles with grout so that you see how it looks that way instead of just one random tile. He said that the new tile patterns usually are released in February, so they got a lot of the latest and greatest. Really nice selection...we thought the prices were good. We told him that we didn't have any projects coming up any time soon, but he put us in the computer so that we can get 25% off (for visiting the store this week) when we get around to buying tile for whichever tile project is next.
I wish our Tile Shop was like that. Ours is full of high pressure sales people. It actually felt like we were buying a car and I haven't been back since. Good to know they aren't all like that!

From the way the manager talked, I thought all of their stores were supposed to be no pressure. I have no other experience with the store, but I loved not having someone hound us.
munkii...I spent a lot of time looking at the vignettes. I almost asked them who did their tile installation, because they had some of the best tile work that I have ever seen. I thought DH was spending much too much time at a couple of vignettes looking at some tile not right for our house at all, but it turned out that he was looking at the vanities for information about the manufacturer. I think he took pictures.
I really loved the Tile Shop for walking around and being able to REALLY get a feel for what the various tiles look like in situ. The whole vignette setup, and the tile boards WITH GROUT are fantastic for that.

I miss the Tile Shop. We got marble hexagonal tiles for our bathroom (small room) for 70% off in the discount area of one when redoing our last main bathroom. Loved the tiles and the super price.
