I probably shouldn't say anything and I don't want to spread doom and gloom but feel the need to say something as a warning. I haven't even followed the Lumber Liquidators story, but I used to work in the cabinet industry and so much of the plywood came from China and is full of formaldehyde too. Not just discount/big box cabinets either.
DD2 is so hardcore. She's still singing the ABCs at the top of her lungs at 10pm. Thank goodness dd1 is sleeping through it. I think she could not sleep ever and still be just as happy.
Also, Disney is the best thing ever. I'm going to declare that before we hit day 2 and a bunch of meltdowns. We only had fun today.
I spend so much time making lunches for daycare at night that when it comes time to make my lunch all I do is toss some lettuce in a tupperwear. My kid eats better than me.
Trying to think of baby names is making me lose my mind. I recommended Oscar last night. Our last name would make the kid named after a weiner. DH just started at me and was like "think, think about what you are saying". Ugh.

Are there any manufacturers that don't import from China?

DH is OOT and DS fell asleep in my room watching The Voice. I don't think I'll move him. He has never slept in our room (beyond his cosleeper days) and he will love waking up in here. Between me being sick and DD being sick, he's been struggling a bit.
I realized I only had sugar free jello and needed to make some for DD. I texted a few neighbors to see if anyone was headed to the store tonight and my sweet neighbor brought me jello, baby food bananas, Popsicles and a happy meal for DS. I couldn't even hug her since we are a germ factory over here. My dad has been here every day helping but he came down with the stomach virus last night. It was inevitable.

What is happening? I am on hour 4 (FOUR!) of trying to get DS to go the eff to sleep. He will not stop throwing his lovey out of the crib so then he whines and cries. If I go in to give it back he claws at me to pick him up and screams bloody murder. Rocking didn't work, bed sharing didn't work, my husband isn't home. I just want to scream at him to shut up and go to sleep.

Sorry, I posted and went to bed last night. Yes, for sure. There are just more and more that do import and get sneaky about their advertising, saying "assembled in America" but the materials all come from China.

See I thought this was sort of common knowledge/a long standing issue? When we were building our house 10 years it was all over to check the plywood because it was full of not only formaldehyde but other illegal chemicals too. I also thought vinyl flooring had this issue. I remember our contractor and the factory that designed our house double checking/looking into the floors and cabinets.
I'm sort of scared again though. We're about to a pretty big addition to our house/have a bunch of stuff upgraded. We did pick local contractors and a local well respected lumberyard this time, so I feel "safe" but I better ask again.

Definitely a long standing issue. I guess something just came about with Lumber Liquidators tho (I'm not sure) that is causing a big stink. So that's why I mentioned the plywood and cabinet parts. Just want people to be informed that it affects pretty much all building materials.
I remember about 5 or 6 years ago there was a issue with shitty drywall from China too, like it cracked and peeled, wasn't dense enough, and had all kinds of issues.
I wish there was an at home way test this stuff easily.
