Funny story... I work in medical billing. I had to call an insurance company that is infamous for their outsourced call center. I would ask a question, and the gal on the phone would say "let me look that up for you" (or something to that effect) and then she started singing the Jann Arden Insensitive song "I probably shoulda known by the time you took me home..." in her Indian accent. Every single time I asked a question. I guess she thought she'd provide her own hold music for me?
It's true! Some companies have started to figure out what to bring back to the US because the dissatisfaction rate is so much higher.
A fun tip: if the phone tree uses voice recognition, swear at it and you will get to a human being faster ... I've met several people who work on phone tree software and they all say it's true!

Our call center is in the US, but we hire all types of employees. I had someone get upset with me because he/she thought our call center was in India since the person who helped her had an Indian accent. You just can't win. Sigh.
