Please. If there is one thing she got from her mama, it was Debbie's IDGAF attitude. Carrie won't go and she'll be sure to cop to why even if it's something as amusing as "Harrison Ford ate the last piece of pizza in 1983 and I've never forgiven him for it."
I laughed so loud I had to explain it to DH.
Really though Harrison is the one we know won't be going to any funerals. He hated his own character, I don't even want to know how he felt about everyone else.
I met Shitner once at some geek convention. His toupee was the same color as his fake tan which was the same color as his blah suit and shirt. He looked like a walnut.
I suppose that image, and his bad Shakespearean over-acting, leaves me with "I'm not shocked." I get the impression he's all about him and is a bit of a diva about it.
Team Spock 4ever.
Shitner. SHITNER.
There's a Priceline commercial on right now and I'm dying.
Shatner and Nimoy did not like each other. Takei and Shatner don't like each other either. Basically no one from that show likes Shatner.
I'm not at all surprised he didn't go. I think him getting on social media and talking about not going is the only reason anyone knows or cares.
Kirk would go to Spock's funeral (he did). Real world works differently.
Yea conventions are generally Shatner separate from the original cast - like Shatner gets his own panel, or is on a "captain's panel" because only other captains are his equals I guess. While Takei & Koenig might have a shared panel where they bash Shatner on stage to this day. But I've gotten the impression from comments at the several Star Trek conventions I've attended over time that Nimoy didn't dislike Shatner as much as the rest of them do. One of the big beefs Takei etc seem to have with Shatner is that he would try to turn their few opportunities in the spotlight into more time for him, but Spock, Kirk, and Bones were considered the main characters by the showrunners at the time, so they didn't have to fight with Shatner for screen time like the others did and were more his equals.
They weren't besties but there's a lot of shared history at the least, I think he should have gone.

I just watched the Takei documentary on Netflix over the weekend. The interviews showed shatner as being your typical clueless asshole. He's not malicious, but also doesn't see past his nose.
FWIW, until recently, I wouldn't have expected various Star Wars characters to attend each other's funerals. Those actors have spent considerably less time together than the various Star Trek casts over the years.
I also wouldn't expect Picard to go to Spock's funeral or Shatner to some random red shirt's or even Khan's funeral.
Also, Shatner has dedicated an amazing amount of time in the last few days to crafting a narrative that he and Spock were best buddies, so, STOP FUCKING AROUND, WILLIAM SHATNER

This is what bothers me. His revisionist history. You his were not best friend. STAHP.

And if you're gonna bother revising history LIVE UP TO THE REVISION.

At minimum, if you're going to rewrite history, don't half ass it, jerkface. Go to the fucking funeral. Don't pretend the citizens of South Florida would be all bummed that you didn't show up at some $1k dinner with Wayne Newton and Donald Trump.
