Hmm, I've honestly never noticed it was that bad. Peppa's on around here once in a while and so far DS is mostly just interested in pointing out the Mommy, Daddy and Grandpa when he sees them. I'll have to pay more attention the next time it's on.
It's not one of my favorites. Peppa doesn't treat her brother nicely and she complains about everything. I won't ban it, but my kid aren't clamoring to spend their tv time on it anyway. MLP, Sofia and Doc win around here. I'm surprised such a low budget looking and boring cartoon is that popular. Peppa World sounds like hell.
Ugh. I couldn't get through the whole article, but I promise peppa isn't the reason her 2 yr old acts 2 or the reason her 3 yr old fought with her friend over a toy. Give me a break.
I mean, peppa is kind of annoying, but it isn't even in my top 5 of annoying kid shows. My kid loves that stupid whistle-headed pig and all he's gotten from it.os "tomahto" and "cheeky"

Right?!
All my DS gets out of it is that it is very funny to snort like a pig. Lol.

Ffwc- I don't pay attention to what my kids watch (outside of avoiding violent shows for ds). Like at all. They both get an hour of their choice of show a day. I use that time to chat with you swell folks or clean. Dd is into MLP because that's what all the cool asd girls watch. I hope it's ok. If not I don't think she's going to turn into a serial killer because of it. If she does I'll teach her the code like dexters dad did so it's all good.

Oh DD watched that when she was younger. My kids like that new show on Disney with the robot ostrich? Hell even my 8 year old too cool for cartoons loves that show.

I haven't heard of that. My kids are Into Disney channel and are both obsessed with miles from tomorrow land. It's funny dd (beyond surprisingly) is one of three girls with asd in her class. When she started last January she was the first girl they had in five years. All three are way into ponies to the point they had to add more to the classroom. Lol.

It's like the only thing I noticed it's so bizarre.
Lol. The first time we watched it was on the weekend so we were all watching it together and my H was like, um is that a robot ostrich? Because it looks like an ostrich...but why??
I HATE that show, it's not banned but the boys aren't into it. They're into Mickey and Sesame Street. But she knows everything, they make daddy pig a gluttonous idiot, grandpa pig always have to save the day because daddy doesn't know how to mow the lawn, drive the car, etc. and she is mean to George. But I could say something about practically every kids show.
ETA: I just read the article. Really, if the worst thing my 3 yo did is say yo a kid"I don't want to play with you" I wouldn't be thinking Damn peppa pig! I'd be like, good job using your words and not your hands!
Right?!
I'm just glad if they're not hurling trains and blocks. I didn't like it when my girls started pretending I was "Mommy Pig" though. No, sweetheart, you can not call me Mommy Pig.
Can we talk about how whiney and annoying Caillou is while we're at it?
Ha! I thought of him too when reading the article and all of the Caillou Haters of the world!
Ds has really only started saying words this past month or so....and to my horror, Caillou came on the other day and as I went to change the channel, he said "mama caillouuuuuu." I was like noooooo. Haha. But only because Caillou is a whiny butthole not because I worry about the appropriateness lol.

Agreed....and why he is bald?!
There is actually an answer to this question :?
Caillou was initially created as a baby of nine months. When it was time for him to get older, the addition of hair made him unrecognizable. So we decided that Caillou would never have any hair, and he went on to become popular as a little boy who is bald. Caillou’s baldness may make him different, but we hope it helps children understand that being different isn’t just okay, it’s normal.

DS 1 had a speech delay and Caillou was one of his first words. It came out "aah-uh". He doesn't bother me. Caillou, that is. DS1 sometimes does. Lol.
I've never seen Peppa Pig. We don't really watch Nickelodeon. I don't have a problem with not letting your kids watch something if you don't like it, but I feel like talk of "banning" anything is just clickbait
We are currently watching Miles. DS1 loves it. There are only like 5 episodes and he's seen them a million times.

He looks like a toddler/preschool version of Charlie Brown, minus the charm of Snoopy and Woodstock.
Confession: Veggie Tales is banned in my house. I'm freaked out by Jesus Vegetables.
Confession: There was no Peppa Pig when I was a kid and I called my mother MooMa because the cow noise tormented her and I thought it was funny.
Someone gave us a singing veggie tales book. A book. With a button that produces a song that can only be described as multiple chipmunks singing about Jesus. Loudly.
