I haven't asked the pedi yet but we have an appointment on Monday and I was going to maybe ask about that and maybe domperidone too to see what she says. There are LCs at the hospital but they apparently don't take appointments. We've called them a few times for advice but their suggestions aren't working. H left a message for them so we're waiting on a call back. I'm going to see if they could meet with me or if they have any other ideas about why I'm getting so little milk almost 2 weeks PP. They did mention seeing if I qualify for a visit from a public health nurse but I don't think that will be helpful. I need someone trained specifically in BFing, not just a general nurse.
That is so weird about the hospital lc. I would call your pedi receptionist now and ask for a lc rec. The should be able to give you the name and number of someone who can help face to face.
I think if the LC doesn't get back to us or can't meet, this might be my next step.
I hate that it is not going the way you planned. It's so hard those first couple weeks regardless.
For me, I stopped pumping on Monday at one month and although I still wish I could breastfeed it is so much less stress/worry to just FF. I decided for me and G it was better for the mama to give it up. I'm hoping next child I will have better results.
No matter what you are doing amazing. E will be just fine however it works out. You are such a great mom.
Definitely ask your Pedi for a LC rec. The one I had took insurance, came to my house, and was able to get me an RX for domperidone via the dr's office she worked in.
Oh and to add - Some people just don't respond well to the pump too - please don't beat yourself up. Has he been evaluated for lip/tongue ties? I think if you can work to get him back on the breast, that would be great and help your success, but as a person who really struggled with her first to BF (BF, bottle, pump - it was my entire day practically), it was a big relief in the end to go to supplementing even though it meant my supply wouldn't ever fully recover. It took me 4 weeks to get there though and I wish i had let myself come to terms with it sooner. Happy mom, happy baby! Lots of hugs.
I don't know if this will help or not or if you have already tried it but my husband used ilca.org to find a LC in my area. Click on "directories" at the top to search.
huskymom no, he hasn't. His latch issues seemed to be more because my nipples are flat, which is why we were using the shield. But it's possible he has another issue too. Wouldn't surprise me!
I've been wanting to do skin to skin again but I'm afraid to because of how fast he freaks out. It's either immediately after I lay him down or within a couple minutes of him searching and not finding what he's looking for. This happens regardless of how hungry or awake he is so I don't even know how to start trying to get him to BF again.

Just looked and the closest is 30 miles away and works I assume at the hospital so I'm not sure she will take appointments. The closest that works in a clinic is about an hour away

Oh man that stinks. Maybe your H can call and see if they do home visits? I'm so sorry it's so hard for you to find the help you need. ((Hugs))

I doubt they would drive up here. Ugh this is so frustrating!
I'm not sure if it is possible with a c section but I have read that retained placenta can prevent milk from coming in. This site talks about that and some other causes of low milk supply. sarachana.com/low-milk-supply/

Just trying to think of some possibilities.
I didn't have a c section. I have thought about this as a possibility. I will look into it more but from what I read before it kinda sounded like milk wouldn't come in at all with a retained placenta. But I could have misunderstood!

Oof, sorry. I think I confused you with another poster who had a scheduled c section recently and is also having difficulties BF.
Well that's interesting. Just fed E and as I was burping him he was moving his head around and scooting down. So I let him try to BF, preparing myself for a scream fest. He fussed a little and didn't latch but he snuggled his face into my boob and fell asleep, lol. I'm going to take that as a sign that maybe this isn't a lost cause?
