I have seen the HP movies because friends wanted me to go, but I've never read the books. I have absolutely no interest, though I promise I tried a couple times to get into it. I couldn't so I put the book down and never picked it back up.
Well, the first two books are more young adult/children's books. Once you hit 3, they get a bit older and darker. By 4 they are GOOD!
I just can't understand not loving Harry Potter, says the girl currently wearing a Harry Potter t-shirt.

Jojo would it make any sense if I started on book 3 though? I just really couldn't get into the first one but perhaps if the others were darker and written a bit older I'd enjoy them.

I actually started on book three because a friend had it at work in high school and I was bored, I went back and read the first two after that though.

Oh yeah. The third one is where the big storyline really STARTS. The first two you could probably read and end there without reading any of the others. (They all connect in someway, but 1 & 2 have more individual storylines.)
The third book is actually my favorite in the whole series.
