Another edition of "Would You Be Mad?"

H left for Detroit yesterday around 530. He texted me a few times from the road and then when he got there around 3am.

I got a text from his friend at lunch saying he left his phone in the room. The. A text around 530.

Nothing since despite my texts to him.

How do you not look at your phone for FIVE HOURS?!

Probably not mad. I go hours without looking at my phone all the time.

If he knew he'd left his phone but didn't contact you until several hours after he realized it, yes, I'd be mad. But I don't think it's reasonable to be angry someone forgot something and didn't notice for a while, especially if there was no reason to use it and therefore be reminded he didn't have it.

Not mad because I am pretty bad about checking my phone. Mildly annoyed possibly

Nope. I almost never check my phone during the day. I usually leave it in my coat pocket or purse when I get to work and don't pull it out again until my commute home.

My husband is worse.

I'm another who often doesn't notice texts until hours or even a day later. I blame it on being old.

I look at my phone all the time. But my H doesn't, so I would probably be in this same situation as you! Ha. I am used to it though, and expect it from my H.

I frequently leave my phone at home and don't check it for 12+ hours. 

When DH is out of town I hear from him every 36 hours or so. 

I couldn't be mad.

I go hours without looking at my phone because it gets eaten by my purse. H is different and I expect him to respond because it's on his hip. So to answer your question, maybe slightly annoyed, but probably not mad.

It depends on what kind of communication relationship you have. My H rarely answers my texts/calls/emails for hours on end and often his phone runs out of battery half way through the day so I personally would expect not to hear from him.

I would be annoyed but not mad. Unless you had specified to have him check in with you at a certain time or check his phone every so often. DH is bad about responding to calls or texts so I get being angry/annoyed.

Do you need him for something? Does he typically respond quickly?

If I needed him or his comfort/advice/ whatever and couldn't get in touch I would be pissed. If I was just checking in, sending him cute pics, ect, I would get annoyed but wouldn't say anything and would just get over it.

Heh, I didn't realize that my phone has been did for who knows how long until I just pulled it out of my bag. When it charged on, I had three texts from my husband from hours ago. Whoops.

This is why I don't think this should be a mad-worthy offense

I finally called him and talked to him around 3:30 today. I wish he'd just check in so I didn't have to call him.

I just needed to talk to him because he's my best friend. He's still told me nothing about his trip. We are normally over sharers.

Plus side, I'm not going to feel bad doing a last minute overnighter on Thursday.

I would be annoyed. I think the biggest part of my annoyance would be him not checking in on me while alone with the kids.
