I was never really a show watcher. So it really didn't matter. I don't miss anything. We have Netflix and right now I'm watching parenthood. It was really quite easy to let it go!
We cut cable and got Sling TV. It's 20 bucks a month and it has AMC so we can still watch Walking Dead. The only shows we watch regularly were on network channels and we bought an antenna so we can still watch them. If we miss them live, they let you watch free online, and we'll just play it from the iPad to the Apple TV. We do have Amazon Prime and Netflix so we are still able to watch plenty of tv, we jus aren't paying outrageous sums for channels we never watch.
how do you still watch your favorite shows? Hulu plus? Netflix? Other?
About to do some research now, but which one(s) is best for being able to watch recent seasons and episodes of shows, especially on Bravo bc the new season of Southern Charm is starting soon
I am not sure if you can get bravo without cable but 99% of their shows are available on the bravo website a few days after they air. Sony shows take longer, like a week or so but they are usually there.
I went over a year with just the local network channels I could get to come in with rabbit ears after years of cable. That was an adjustment, but I just de-prioritized tv for a while.
and THEN. Recently I got NETFLIX. Feel like a kid in a candy store. There is no limit to what I have to catch up on.

We have an Amazon Fire stick with Netflix and Huld subscriptions. I watch Bravo shows online on my iPad. We have been cable free for a month and love it.
Eta: We also bought an antenna for local channels and to get live events like the Oscars.
We have Amazon Prime and Netflix. I can't say there are more than a couple of shows we haven't been able to easily watch via either (or iTunes) since we cut cable 5 years ago.
My favorite part of it is that I can watch my shows the best way. When ever is good for me, as many at a time as I want, and I'm not tempted to watch crap tv (reality) just because it's on.
We have Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hulu Plus (and HBO Go courtesy of my parents account lol)
Between all those we can watch pretty much everything besides live sports. And with more people cutting cable I think there will be more ways to watch live sports soon - there are already a few apps on the Amazon Fire TV
katieido - you're totally right. It IS about change in perspective. I suppose I'll survive without Bravo, especially with spring right around the corner!
I just downloaded the Bravo app on my iPad, literally like 30 minutes ago. And I can watch full episodes. I'm watching Vanderpump Rules right now.

Playon is good too. It streams a ton of cable channels to your tv via the Roku that have shows online even if they are computer only.
For example: Hulu has some shows that are desktop only but this lets you watch them on the TV which I prefer. I bought a lifetime pass for like $36 on sale.
Hulu plus has current seasons, but I don't think it has Bravo. We also have Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Go, and an antenna for local tv. We have a PS3 and smart tv.
We don't really watch sports, but I think there are a few apps coming out soon.

Ditto. I really like Netflix and it's so inexpensive.

My BIL and I just looked at Sling today, and he said the sports package was really good. ESPN comes with the $20 package, and then there was an additional sports package for $5 extra per month, that had quite a few channels.
I'm not in to sports, but he is, and said it's a pretty comprehensive package.
We give them our Netflix, Hulu, & Amazon Prime and they give us their Fios which gives us access to HBO, Showtime, Bravo, & MTV which I watch on my iPad.
We do do this with sports. We've paid for IL's cell phones for years, so he gives us his comcast account.
