I realize now that I should have started adjusting DD'S sleep this past week but the time change snuck up on me. She's almost 2 so what is the best way to help adjust her to the time change for bedtime? TIA
I tried putting DS to bed 15 min early yesterday. Usual bedtime is 8pm. Tonight he will go to bed at 8:30, tomorrow 8:15, and then back to normal bedtime at 8.
I don't do much, if any thing. Nothing official. I'm nursing the baby now, we're only about 15-20 min ahead of normal time but according to the clock it's late. Dh might read the girls a few extra books tonight.

Reese although NEEDS naps, usually doesn't take them. However, the last few days she has been falling asleep (mostly since we have been home around naptime). Today I just skipped her nap all together and put her to bed at normal time-7pm. She fell right asleep.
We just do the 15 minute increments until we are on track again. And lots of coffee for me. My 3 year old was excited for DST because he thought the "clocks would go crazy!!" He was pretty disappointed when he found no crazy clocks. I think he means flashing like when the power goes out lol.

Thanks! It was a little crazy and DH had to switch to midnight shift last night so the whole evening and night was off but it all worked out. Next year I will tattoo on my forehead to start transitioning a week prior to DST.

This year all bets are off since DD is currently dropping her nap and has a cold. She crashed 3-5 yesterday so I let her stay on track which meant she was up until 9! Usually I try to do 30 mins off the first night and play it by ear but transition fully in a couple days.

I just keep them to their usual (with the new time) schedule and it takes about 3 days to adjust totally. So yeah, my kids go to bed at 7, so it's 'like' they are going to bed at 6, so if it takes them a while to fall asleep, so be it, but they will start getting up early too and it works itself out in a few days.
