C hadn't puked since Thursday at 5. Has been acting fine all weekend, minus not eating a whole lot.
Guess who just puked again all over his bed?
I'm freaking out. I was home alone with both boys all day Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and will be again tomorrow. I'm climbing the walls and can't bear another MMCH marathon. And I feel like I'm not giving the baby enough attention because C is so demanding.
It's shit like this that makes me hate my H's job and not having any grandparents in town to help.
Sorry. E had a stomach bug about a month ago where I thought she was fine, then 3 days later - barf again. Hope it was just a fluke and he's not throwing up all day tomorrow!
I second trying new shows. DD is a Bubble Guppies fanatic and I actually like it, too. It's really cute, the songs are fun with repetitive movements so they can dance along, and the characters are polite/respectful.
Goal for tomorrow is to find at least one new show or movie he likes. He's shown some interest in Jake and the Neverland Pirates, maybe we'll try that.
I haven't really let him use the iPad much because he gets obsessive about it but I think tomorrow will be an exception.

That sounds stressful. I just finished my first 2 stressful weeks of going back to work fulltime after SAHM for almost 2 years. Our average daily TV time has at least doubled if not tripled around the time DS got sick. Hope he feels better soon. I also wish we had family nearby instead of scrambling for babysitters last minute
Little Baby Bum on you tube! Nursery Rhymes that both my boys love... Or classic Mickey Cartoons. DS1 "found" Chip and Dale a few months ago and I got 2 days of down time while DS2 was sick... Good Luck!!
I understand. I'm going to put Calliou up for sale pretty soon in this house. I usually limit that show but DD was super sick most of last week and i felt bad for her. I have nightmares about his little whiny voice now.
Can you download a movie? I found a full length Curious George for DD and she thought it was fabulous.
Elmo? The shapes one is good. DD is singing "It's hip to be a square" as a result of it. He's not too annoying.
Word World? I actually really like that one.
Or just download him some apps, education or not. At least you don't have to listen to it.
Will he color? Do a craft? DD burned through most of her magic ink and color wonder stash last week on the couch. It was about all she had the energy for.

I'm so sorry. We had the stomach bug too and it was no fun with a toddler and small baby. My parents aren't local and my H's might as well not be because they are 0 help

Also, I had to let a lot of my former "rules" go after I had Cam. TV entertaining the toddler while you deal with baby? Sure! Snacks to keep toddler happy? Have at it! Lol. Don't be hard on yourself.

ugh! dd had this last week. She threw up Wed, was fine Thursday, then threw up again Friday night and had diarrhea. She was fine Sat and had Diahrea yesterday.
Praying it's all out of his system! and I feel you on the MMC, ugh that is all dd watched for days....
Stomach bugs can live in the intestines for 2 weeks after symptoms have stopped, so he can re-infect himself if he isn't washing his hands after gong bathroom or touching the inside of his diaper for whatever reason. Also Purell and sanitizing wipes don't kill it- you gotta use bleach for hard surfaces and soap/water elsewhere and for skin.

Oh, Brie. I'm so sorry!
Don't worry about the baby -- he will be fine, and he will never, ever remember the week when he was a newborn and he got less attention than usual because his brother was sick. I promise :-)
I'm trying to think of activities for a two year old that will keep him out of your hair for a bit. Definitely try some new shows. DD1 discovered an embarrassing number of new shows the summer her sister was born. Have you tried: Elmo, Word World, Bubble Guppies, Dora, Thomas, Little Einsteins, Peppa Pig, Olivia, Daniel Tiger? Peppa Pig and Olivia are ones we turn on for DD1, but DD2 is mesmerized.
Ditto PP on tearing up paper into little bits. It's also good for fine motor skills :-). If you have kid scissors, let him go to town with those. How do you feel about Play Doh? It's a lot of clean up (less if he can do it on a kid table on top of an old sheet), but at that age it could keep DD1 entertained for an hour, so it was worth it. Painting? Water colors aren't too messy. Stickers? You can also fill a small cookie sheet with baking soda, use food coloring to make different colored bowls of water, then give him a medicine dropper and have him "make a rainbow" by dropping the water on the baking soda. Again, potentially messy, but if he does it for half an hour, maybe it'll be worth it.
Also, let him play with new apps on your phone or tablet. Or take pictures -- DD1 has always loved to take pictures.
Maybe you've already thought of this, but can you swing hiring a mother's helper for a few days? Even a few hours a day to help entertain C or hold P for a minute or make lunch for everyone while you field the kids?

Hugs, @brie. I haven't read the other responses, so maybe this has been mentioned, but would you be opposed to letting him watch a movie? Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc., etc? More tolerable for you, hopefully, and maybe it would engage him enough that you could focus on P.

Sorry
Hate to break it to you, but the one going around here in Cali has been lasting 5-7 DAYS! Barf one day, two days runs, rinse.repeat. Hope that is not the case for you.
