Kid 2 is just not succeeding in a classroom setting. He's definitely delayed and we've been working with his teacher about what to do. She wanted to cut him back to a half day which we did not want. So we all agreed to try to get him an IEP. We had the meeting today. He qualifies for OT, PT, and counseling once a week. I'm so relieved that something is going to be done and that it will follow him for at least 3 years.
yay! and I'm jealous. I got an evaluation done for my daughter and she didn't qualify for services through the school system. She is a kid that scores within normal limits but still needs some help, particularly in social communication and OT for her sensory seeking behaviors. So, we have to pay OOP for it and it is expensive. Im glad that you are able to get the help he needs for free. I'm sure he will make great strides. I hope he has a wonderful rest of the school year!
That sucks the school didn't help you. The entire meeting I was a nervous wreck that they'd say he didn't meet criteria.
