So we've had a breathable crib bumper since the beginning with DS. In the last two weeks, he has decided it's fun to smush it down and try to stick his limbs through the slats or bang his head against the slats. This makes for very not-fun periods of containment when I need to get things done or when I just want to lay in bed for 10 more minutes before getting him.
Can I replace this with the stiffer, non-breathable bumper I used for DD? I'm not so worried about him suffocating, he's super mobile, but is there a chance he'll use it to climb on and propel himself put of the crib? The mattress is on the lowest setting already, but he is occasionally trying to pull to stand.
I have the thicker bumper and my DD climbs all over it. Luckily, it just smashes down so it doesn't work as a stepping stool to help her climb out. However, every kid is different. You could always switch it for one day and see if it helps since you already have one on hand.
