Throw them away. I'm not a saver. I might keep something homemade. The amount of thought my ILs put in DS2's first birthday card was obvious. It had a ladybug on it and said "To the birthday girl" on the front. That got tossed.

I toss them. Cards that are particularly pretty I might throw in a frame. But a generic "happy birthday!" card I will recycle. My inlaws send cards for everything. It's very sweet and my kid's love getting the mail, and I might set the cards on the mantle until that particular celebration is over, but then I toss. I just realized that my MIL writes a little date in the corner of the cards, and now I'm a little worries she intends for me to save those...
I struggle with this all the time. I have a pile of Valentines sitting on my desk right now. We did a bunch of homemade ones this year. I have tended to keep the cards from grandparents and great-grandparents for birthdays, and any other "special" cards, like ones with a really nice note. Sometimes I wonder if I should even be keeping as many as I keep! Then, I think about saving them for art projects as PP suggested b/c it seems like such a waste just to toss them, but I'm afraid that it would turn into a huge mess. Maybe I'll start throwing some old ones in a box for art projects and take a chance.
i think I need to get organized and get a box for each person!
