I have 3 pairs of dress shoes, and 1 pair of snow boots. If my driveway isn't snowy, I wear a comfy (bland) pair of Cole Haan wedges to/from work. Then I usually switch into something fancier if I walk around the office. My feet (post-bunion surgery) prefer flats, but need more height to accommodate most of my pants.
Someone I work with has an entire basket of shoes under her desk.

1 -- I have a pair of black flats, and then I have whatever I walk to work in (boots or sneakers). So I switch when I get to work, usually, but I always have a pair under there.
Zero because I freelance, but even when I worked in one office full time, it was still zero. I would choose one pair to wear each day. If I wore boots, I would carry my shoes with me.
Technically, 4. I generally wear flats to the office, but I always have my hiking boots, keen sandles, rubber boots and fire boots so I'm always prepared for what I'm doing that day! If I was purely an office worker, I don't think I would keep any extra shoes at my desk...

This is funny because I don't generally keep any shoes at work but somehow I've accumulated three extra pairs over the last two months. A beat up pair of boots I wore in on a messy day, a pair of heels I left behind on a different messy day, and then a pair of sneakers I brought in because I had an optimistic minute awhile ago and thought I might work out at lunch.
i don't. i hate that b/c what if i want to wear a pair at home and i've left them at work? i lug a pair of shoes in almost every day (during boot weather). it's annoying but i prefer it. i would rather have the right shoes at the right time.
I buy specific shoes to keep at work, hence the single pair.
There have been very few occasions I've needed them other than at work, and they're small enough that it's easy to bring.
I used to keep black pumps at work but I rarely wear heels now.
Is this is a heels thing? Or is this a weather thing?
For me it's a weather thing. Nov-March I wear boots in, so I just leave my work shoes at work so I don't have to bring them in every day. If I go out anywhere from home where I would need nicer shoes I'll probably just wear nicer boots.
I also have a billion pairs of shoes so leaving some at work is just easiest.

Yes, exactly. I don't have work-only shoes. I might need them. Carrying one pair every day is far less annoying to me than being without the ones I want or lugging home a bunch of shoes at the end of the season.

this is a good point. My H might not think I overdo it on shoes if I leave some at work. lol
I also have plenty of dress shoes for work and home. Sometimes on Fridays, I evaluate whether I have dress occasions that weekend and whether I want to take any of my work shoes home.
