We are trying a new bedtime routine with DD (19.5 months). Our old routine would be bath around 7. Bottle of toddler formula (due to dairy allergy) around 7:30 and play in room until 7:50 then bed.
We would like to get rid of the toddler formula so the last couple of nights we have done bath at 7pm and then a couple sips of water while watching half an episode of Mickey mouse clubhouse and then bed around 7:50. I am still adjusting the new routine, I am gonna do reading in room instead of TV I think. But my main concern is the lack of nighttime bottle. Do you do anything before bedtime, besides a cup of milk? DD won't drink milk substitutes so that's out. Maybe a small snack?
I think I am worrying about her not getting enough nutrients. (Though we do have flinstones vitamins we can give her).
She will probably just adjust her daily intake once her body realizes she isn't getting the bottle. Once I weaned we didn't do any snack or milk after dinner.
Now at 3 she very occasionally asks for a snack so I give her something small

After I weaned, I never gave additional food in between dinner and bed. We don't have long in between, though. Our routine (for DD1 after weaning and what I will do for DD2) is: dinner, either a bath or play a very short time with Dad while I clean the kitchen, then get pajamas on, brush teeth, read 2 books in her room, then turn off the light. Then I sit with her in the dark for a bit and either talk quietly (with my 5 year old) or rock/sing (when she was younger). No more than 10 minutes at the most, then I leave.

DS is 24 mo and does not eat between dinner at 6pm and bed at 8pm. He does not eat much dinner some nights, so I will offer him a yogurt pouch on those nights. He can quickly suck it down and get back to playing.
