We accidentally realized SLS might actually work for us! I never thought we'd do anything other than Ferber, but DD has proven otherwise. I apologize for not reading up on it first.
Anyway...
1. How many nights in a row do you sit in the same position? I believe the point is to shift further and further away from the crib, right? Do you move each night, or a keep it as is a few days before moving?
2. How long did it take for you to be able to put them in the crib and just walk out? Or do you always forever have to sit with them until they're asleep?

I took an exceptionally long time with it but that may have been a result of DS1's age when we started (14mo). It took two months before I was out of the room and he was falling asleep on his own.

DD is 14 months old now... This does not bode well for us, but it could be worse.

Well, the ones that sleep train easily do so using Ferber at 6mo right? ;-) I will say that once trained the first time, he's been an amazing nighttime sleeper ever since.

We sleep trained using Ferber at 7 months. it worked for 2 months. Her life has been one giant sleep regression.

You are supposed to do three nights at each position. I don't remember how long it actually took with DD. I know she got sick at one point and regressed a bit. Overall I was happy with the method and think we might try it with DS soon.
