My parents both are sending me, pretty much every day, emails about something appalling the president has done. I am so over it.
I am not an Obama fan, but I don't need you to send me some email about something that shocked you or how this or that has changed for the worse since he's been in office.
There is appalling stuff with every presidency and you can always find something to criticize. And I honestly feel like the presidency is a position to be respected regardless of personal feelings.
They know where I stand politically which is pretty close to where they stand, so they don't need to try to sway me. It's like they enjoy getting riled up about things and want everyone else to get riled up, too.
Just vote your beliefs, and pray that the election goes how you'd like.
Disclaimer: I do not enjoy talking politics at all, so maybe if I did, I wouldn't be so annoyed by it.

My dad is VERY conservative. Imagine the stereotypical conservative Texan. And then times that by 100. I've learned very early on not to talk to him about politics. Everyone is a liberal. Mexicans should be kicked out of Texas and that the state should be its own country.
Thankfully he doesn't email me about that. Usually it's pics of their cats.
I have some incredibly conservative relatives who forward that stuff as well. Between the emails and the incessant political ads, I think I'm going to Canada till November.
