Does anyone have a Mamaroo swing, been considering one and was curious for feedback. My first two weren't overly fond of our standard swing do I'm wishy-washy.
I like our's. My DS is 3 mo and has laid in swing during dinner and while I'm cooking. He seems to like it. We liked the sleeker look of it vs..other swings. I'd look for a used one or a deal. I got mine for about 50% off, stacking coupons and sales.
Yes- and I would not buy it! Mine is the previous gen but it doesn't look like they changed much. It is pretty to look at but $$$ and doesn't have a big swinging action.

I bought one and returned it this week after 3 weeks. Here's why:
1. DS didn't like it, cried after 5 mins and he's N easy to please baby 2. The seat didn't lay horizontal enough for a newborn 3. I didn't like that there wasn't much for him to look at when he got older (three little stuffed balls shoved into plastic, no mirrors, lights or rotation) 4. I HATED how low it was and how the controls were very dark and on the ground. I don't want to have to use the app on my phone to adjust the motion. 5. The seat isn't very deep, even with the extra $30 spent on the infant insert he slid down.
I ended up returning it and getting a Fisher Price Snugabunny swing, DS is asleep in it right now and he already loves the mirror and rotating carousel to look at. the swing isn't as high tech as the mamaroo, but it's half the price and I like the features and ease of use better than the mamaroo. BRU has the swing on sale now for $124 plus I had a coupon and rewards.
Eta: mine was the new style one, they made some updates, but it's still not worth the money
DD didn't like it as a newborn or small baby. Now at 8 months she takes a nap or two in it every day and won't nap anywhere else at home. We started to use it a lot probably around 5 months.
We had the Rockaroo and I was relieved that it broke so I was able to take it back for a full refund. DD was not a fan of it, wouldn't last more than 5 minutes before she started howling. Then again, she never had any swings or bouncy seats at that age, just her RNP and crib and then her play mat.
I think it's a good idea in theory, but I've heard nothing but so-so or bad reviews for it. All the people I know who had one ended up getting/borrowing a "regular" swing after awhile.
DD was very meh about it but she was a hard baby. It is the one piece of baby gear that I sold, everything else is stored.
From what I've seen, if you have a difficult baby, the Mamaroo/Rockaroo is useless. If you have an easy baby, they will probably like it but then they like most anything and aren't particular to that one piece of baby equipment.
I wanted to avoid a giant swing and ended up emergency ordering one for overnight delivery from Amazon. Live and learn!
They used it in our NICU for the babies that couldn't be consoled and they didn't have volunteers to hold. I witnessed the loudest babies being calmed down. That said we didn't have one and more people I know IRL say they were only good for a small timeframe.
We borrowed one, and I'm very happy we didn't drop the Benjamins to buy one. M was very "meh" on it. He much preferred the swing at DC, but by the time we realized that he was about to outgrow it.
I have one and I am meh about it. DD is 6 months now and doesn't really use it much anymore. She's not really a big baby, but she's pretty much outgrown the seat. She would tolerate it for a few minutes here and there. We did use it for sleeping a lot in the first 7 weeks, but she was only sleeping an hour or two at a time so it was all just a blur.
We also borrowed one. Its usefulness was limited to the newborn fussiness period through about 3-4 months. At 6 mo she barely goes in it, and we are returning it to its owner as she is pregnant with #2.
We bought one for DS instead of a traditional swing because we thought it would be sleeker/take up less space. DS wasn't wild about it⦠It was good maybe once or twice for a 20 minute nap, but mostly, it took up space until I sold it. A lot of other moms I interacted with were meh on it too. If you could try it/borrow one before buying, it might be better.
I was so excited about this stupid thing. E liked it well enough when we first brought her home and had the bili-blanket, and after that it just took up space. Total waste for us.
The reviews here were always pretty bad, but we live in a tiny house and needed a swing with a smaller footprint than the typical ones. I bought a Mamaroo on my local swap and shop for $90 and it worked out great for us. It fits in our tiny living room and DD likes it very much. I know the newer ones move faster which was a major complaint on here when they first came out (that they weren't fast enough). I don't put DD in it too often anymore because she has other things she prefers, but I go against the grain and recommend one, especially if you are dealing with space issues like we were. Try to find one used though, because while I loved the thing there's no way in hell they're worth $250.00 or whatever they are sold for now.
We bought one on Craigslist. DS never liked it. We always thought it seemed to slow for our son. We sold it for a profit a few months later so no loss.
I got one on a FB B/S/T group for less than half price. DD likes it. We use it both on and off all the time in the LR as a place to put her. She slept in it when she was a newborn but she's been an easy baby so far. I mainly got it because it looks cool and it low enough to fit under our LR windows.
