So after a few miserable nights this week, we decided to have DD (6.5 months) CIO in the middle of the night. She was waking around 3 to nurse a little and then restlessly waking/crying every 30 minutes until 6am. Last night was the best yet. She went down at 7 awake with no fuss, woke up at 1:30, fussed on and off for 10 mins and went back to sleep until 540. At 540, I got up to feed her and the poor thing had a 101.5 fever and some awful sounding chest congestion . Obviously I will not let her cry now but is there anything I should/should not do to see that we don't completely derail the progress we made?
I would go back to it after she is better. DS has been constantly sick since January and all bets are off on sleeping well because of it. Teething will also throw it off.
Thanks everyone. We have to give her a nebulizer treatment in the middle of the night so we will just get through this however we can and worry about it later.

That's the best attitude. There's just not much you can do about it. DS1 went back to good sleeping as soon as he felt better. DS2 is 19 mo and is still a crap sleeper. We'll get him on track & then he'll get sick and we start over again. I just do what we need to do to make sure everyone gets as much sleep as possible. Sometimes that means I get up most nights between 3 & 5 to nurse him & then we all go back to sleep. Other times it means he has to CIO for a bit to get back on track.
