I wait until I'm late. I just don't like seeing negatives and wasting strips (although I have about 20 pregnacy tests). I have tested at 9 DPO and have had a BFP but that resulted in a CP.
I also start crazy early. It normally goes something like is: 8dpo: bfn (duh) 9dpo: bfn (hmm, others Get bfp then, I must not be pregnant) Then I juts wait for cd1
It is not the smartest plan and basically just wastes tests, but it makes me feel better for some reason

Maybe I should intro- but I am glad I read this post. I have been totally neurotic with testing this weekend. And now I realize it was way too early. I guess I knew that, but hopefully this will help calm me down.
I usually test after I am late. Negatives are not fun. I did test positive at 8dpo with the mmc, because my temp was tanking and the shot up. I won't test now until after it is late in case it is a cp.
I got my BFP with V at 9DPO, my m/c BFPs at 13 and 12DPO. I usually test quite early because I like peeing on things, but this month we're going on holiday to Sicily, and I'm currently 7DPO. I'm not going to test while on holiday because I don't want the anxiety ruining our fun. By the time we come back, my period will either be late or will have showed.
I used to be super quick to test and started as early as 7dpo (I know, I know). After months of trying, I realized I was just wasting tests and getting my hopes up. I try to wait until I miss my period now, although I usually test if I'm only a day or two late. I just don't have the strength to wait until I'm a week late!
With my first I test at 11DPO every month. The cycle I was pregnant I got a BFN and didn't test again for 4 days (AF was late) and then got my BFP so I've learned it's better for me to wait.
The first few cycles TTC this time around I would test the day before my period was due. two cycles ago (we're now on cycle 8) I started waiting till I was late and will continue to do so.
I would usually start around 8dpo because I am impatient, and Wondfos are cheap. My luteal phase was typically only 10-11 days, so it wasn't a crazy number of tests/month. I got my first BFP at 10 dpo, but it was faint. I didn't feel "sure" about it until a darker line at 11 dpo.
I typically wait until at least 12 dpo, if I even test. For some reason a bfn bums me out more than just getting my period, so I only test if I'm feeling particularly impatient or hopeful.
Anymore I don't test unless I'm late which I have yet to be. I'm 8 cycles in and used to test at 12dpo but the bfn results would bum me out more than just getting my period.
