Formula feeders - does anyone use a formula pitcher to mix the bottles for the day? We have been mixing each bottle as needed, but we are leaving the boys for the first time this weekend and I thought a formula pitcher may make it easier on my parents (who are babysitting DS2 for the first time). I'm thinking it would make things easier for our nanny too for her day to day. Pros/Cons?
What are the guidelines for using what you prepare? DS2 has a hearty appetite, so I don't think he'll have any trouble getting through an entire pitcher in a day, but still good to know. TIA.

When we began EFF I bought the Dr. Brown's pitcher. It was great! We made a pitcher every night for weekdays the next day. It wasn't worth it to make it for the weekends because we would usually be out and about and I didn't want to worry about bringing a cooler bag everywhere or wasting any formula. Her (our) weekday schedule was easier to predict so we would always make the right number of ounces.
You can use a regular pitcher but I was reading about how easy it was to mix in the formula pitcher. No air bubbles and the powder disintegrated quickly, unlike when I would just shake bottles. And DD didn't care about formula temperature - she would drink it warm or straight from the fridge.

We never had one, dd liked bottles at room temp. I prefilled all bottles with water and in front of it I premeasured the individual formulas containers. It was pretty simple to just dump it in and shake/Stir

We used the Dr Browns pitcher when DD1 was on Similac Sensitive because making it fresh it was way too bubbly. Having it sit overnight helped the bubbles go away.
I think its good for 24 hours after you make it in the pitcher, but honestly I'm sure I used it somewhat past that.

I was a big fan of my Dr Brown's pitcher. I made 24 hours worth of bottles every evening for the next day. DS also drank his warm, cold or at room temperature.

This is what we did.
Filled the bottles with the appropriate amount of water and then measured out each bottles Oz of formula in little Tupperware containers. Just dump and shake when a bottle was needed.

Thanks for all the responses. I just ordered the Dr. Brown's pitcher. DS2 will drink his bottles cold, so I think it will work great for him. I'm kind of wondering why I never had one before. Both boys were on formula from 6 months on - I kind of feel like I really missed the boat on this convenience!
I use one of those protein shake mixers. (Smaller container with a metal mixing ball in it.) Volume-wise, it works for us because we supplement. Though, I wait overnight to let the bubbles settle. Maybe I should check out this Dr. Brown's pitcher! I had just assumed it would also create bubbles.
The dr Browns pitcher was amazing! We would make how ever many oz he was drinking a day and pour bottles as he went. He also loved cold bottles, so we never had to warm them. We stayed within the 24 hour time frame.
Couldn't believe I wasted my time and effort doing it any other way beforehand when the pitcher is so cheap
This is where I am - how did I not know about this and the fact it's only $14 on Amazon?! Will be on my doorstep on Tuesday, I am very excited about this!
Can you just use a regular pitcher? Or one of those Tupperware quart containers?
This is what we used. You kinda have to guesstimate between lines but it worked fine. We used it for about 10 months. Now I make crystal light lemonade in it lol.
