I thought the whole redesign from the LP we had as kids was to keep the new ones from being choking hazards.
DD has quite a collection of both Little People and Playmobil. I've moved the Playmobil out of DS's reach, but don't sweat it when he gets his hands on a Little People toy.
DH just snatched a LP cow out of DS's hand and said he thinks it's a choking hazard. I'm having a hard time seeing how DS could have jammed the entire cow down his throat. It's all one piece, no tiny bits that can break off.
I don't see how the new LP could be a choking hazard. DD has a LP leopard, and there is no way that thing can fit all the way in her mouth. If the cow is that big, pretty sure your safe.

They just redid them and they are "skinny" now I could maybe see some of the people potentially being a choking hazard (not that I would put them away because they are still huge), but definitely not any of the animals!

The farm animals are massive and definitely not a choking hazard. Even the chickens, which are smaller than the cows, are big. Now, the ones I played with as a kid were absolutely too small and a choking hazard.

I just bought a set of 2 Little People for DS. They fit in a toilet paper tube just fine. I was wondering about the choking hazard thing myself... but the box says ages 1-4 and he really likes them!

They have to be bigger than 1.25 inches to pass the test to be labeled for under 3. I think most toilet paper tubes are bigger than that. They sell special testing tubes if people are really concerned.
Good to know. So I can tell DH to go buy some special testing tubes or shit up and give the baby his toy, haha
