DS is 3.5 and in a Britax Roundabout 55, which we like. We both have smaller cars and DH is 6'4". DD is 8 months so I'd like to get her out of the bucket seat and into a rear-facing convertible soon. I'm thinking of just switching DD to the Roundabout and getting a new seat for DS. Should I get him one of those convertibles that goes to a booster? Or I could leave DS in the Roundabout for now and get DD a new all-in-one type seat? Any recommendations? Thank you!
I'd probably put the baby in the Roundabout and get a FF seat for DS. They tend to be cheaper. Plus if you know the Roundabout works RFing for you, go with that.
We have always had Britax but we switched it up for our most recent baby and bought Chicco NextFit and LOVE it! I'm not sure I will ever go back to Britax.

I would pass the roundabout down to your daughter and get your son a FF harness to booster seat. In general convertible seats are more expensive since they have to pass testing both rear facing and forward. If he's already forward facing there's no point in paying a premium for a seat that can be used RF. When the roundabout expires your son should be ready for or in a booster, so you can get him a dedicated booster (for a lot less money) and pass whatever you get now down to your daughter.
