They're big muslin blankets. I really like them but only used them for swaddling the first month or 2, then he was too big/strong. But, they are great for all kinds of things and he still sleeps with one. I loved them, especially, in the summer b/c they are so lightweight - great for the pool and nursing, and all kinds of things.
I have used them for tons of things too. Nursing, shade cover, towel at the pool/beach, burp cloth, sit on the ground, pillow... I've even made them into sarongs for me and DD at the beach. They have so many uses and pack up small I take one when travelling sans kids. They are pricy but I've been using the same ones for almost 6 years. The off line they make for Target is a little smaller in size.

Do you think they worth the price? It seems like the halo sleep sacks are much cheaper and function the same?
Totally worth it IMO, what are you going to do with a sleep sack after a few months?
I was very skeptical and didn't buy any until the third and now wish I'd had them all along. Swaddling was only one small part of their use to me, I switched to the miracle blanket. They're just so soft. Stalk Amazon and you should be able to get them for $30ish.

This. They are my favorite baby "thing". DS still uses his in his bed and we have one in the car - perfect for when he falls asleep in car or if he just wants a soft cuddly blanket. They were the best stroller cover and nursing cover. Breathable and easy to maneuver. I will be getting more for baby #2.

At last count I think I had about 18....
DS got two sets so 8 and I will be getting two sets for DS2. I guess we'll have to go for third so I can get more

They were absolutely worth it for me. DD uses them now for a lightweight summer blanket, but we used them as swaddles, nursing cover, car seat blankets, etc and totally loved them!

I didn't use them for anything other than swaddling really (probably put them out on the ground to have a place to put the baby at people's houses and stuff like that a few times, but it was stuff you could do with any blanket, but I do agree they fold up small so are easy to take with you), but for me they were worth it for swaddling, esp. for ds. I had a miracle blanket and the swaddlers with velcro, but I could actually get a tighter swaddle that would hold him better with those. I got 4 of the Target ones for dd, and I actually loved having the slightly smaller ones for her when she was a newborn and then the slightly bigger ones from ds when she got bigger. They have good resell value if the price is the only thing holding you back.
I don't have one, But my friend came over with her baby and she had one for him and I'm secretly going to buy myself one bc it was so amazingly soft. My next baby will have one for sure.
I don't know anything about snaps, buy target makes similar blankets for way lead money. I agree with Lala. They are a great multiuse blanket. I used one as a nursing cover for N during the summer, to shade her in the stroller/car seat. She still sleeps with one.
Thanks all. Rainyday, lala, NandaB Do you know what the difference is between the ones at Target and their regular ones? I actually saw them at TJ Maxx today for $20 (they were the A&A for target).
Target or other store brand aden and anais are smaller and thinner. Since you are having a summer baby maybe it's better? I've heard they aren't as soft but don't know from personal experience.

LOVE the big muslin blankets. I had a bunch of A&A for DD and for DS I also had some from Bambino Land. I loved them all. We swaddled DD in them for months - I think she was 4 or 5 months before she started busting out of them. DS was never really swaddled, but ditto PPs that they were always in the diaper bag - nursing cover, sun shade, thrown on the ground, tucked around babies on summer nights, impromptu scarf to cover milk leaks...I got rid of the majority of them, but each kid still has a couple that they still snuggle with and wrap their dollies in.
I love them. We got the Target ones with Kid 3, and then I got the "real" ones from a deals site before this baby (#4). I am so glad I got them. I use them for swaddling and it's easy b/c they are so big, but I just love them in general. They are a great light layer to put inside the car seat cover if you are somewhere cold. LOVE them as a nursing cover--the only thing that has ever worked for me. Impromptu burp cloth even. They are easy to take places b/c they are light and small. Can fold up for more warmth or leave one layer for just a light cover.
I like both, but I do think that the "real" ones are a little bigger and nicer than the Target version.
I love them. I finally got sone when DS2 was a couple months old. I really wish I had them for DS1. He spit up constantly and they seem like they would make good burp clothes. We use them for everything now. Eta we have the "real" ones but I stalked Amazon and got 4 of them for less than $35.
louiej - Thanks. How is the wedding planning going?!
::swoon:: good It's coming up, June 6th! I just booked our long weekend- we're going to Niagara Falls for three days, it's a surprise for STBDH.
If you'll be on the Canadian side, I highly recommend dinner at the revolving restaurant on top of the Skylon Tower. Good food and a beautiful view while you eat.
