Do you call and verify coverage with your insurance before you pay bills?
I have had so many times where I was overcharged I started calling for all medical bills.
I just got off the phone and found out I was billed for 80% coverage on one bill when it should have been 100% covered. Also I got another bill that said it was denied but insurance says it is still in progress. It's so frustrating that I have to double check everything. Now I have more calls to make tomorrow morning. But when it's all said and done I think it will save me about $300 between the two bills.

I know what my coverage is backwards and forwards so any time I get a bill that goes against what I know I check my plan and then call. I have saved at least $500 doing this. It is so important!

Huh, I should check more often. The only time I did was when I was charged specialist fees for seeing my OB/GYN and regular doctor for normal things and I should have just had a regular copay. I should ask for itemized hospital bills to double check what they charged me for. Of course so far it's all come straight out of my FSA but that will be exhausted soon.

Medical bills suck, good job on catching those errors bk1!
The bills for my surgery are starting to come in, I think everything looks ok but I need to go through it to make sure. Since this is new insurance for us I'm still learning what all the coverages are.
