I need to get 2 twin mattresses for a trundle bed in our play room/guest room. I want to put a mattress connector and mattress pad on top so it's 1 big bed for 2 guests.
Any cheap but comfy suggestions for the mattresses? Mattress pad?
I'm not sure what constitutes cheap for a mattress, but we just bought this IKEA mattress for DD: www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60197881/#/40197882. It's the same model we have in a queen size for our own bed. The twin is $169. IKEA has cheaper mattresses, but we figured we knew we liked that one so we just picked that. It's on the firm side, obviously everyone has different definitions of what's comfortable.
Our guest room trundle has memory foam mattresses I got on Amazon for like $100/each. They're pretty comfortable. How do you connect them for guests? My parents just slept on them as two beds pushed together.
So you know how they look like an equal sign if you just pull the pop up trundle out? Apparently you can flip the mattresses so they are vertical (like a hot dog).

We were hoping to get them for $150 or less so that isn't too much more. Bonus is that we are getting the hemnes daybed so it means I don't have to go to another store!

This is what we have. We got it for H because he was in the apartment for two weeks before we moved our stuff down. It comes all rolled up but it's really thick and super comfortable.
I got cheap twin mattresses at Costco and then a memory foam topper that can lay across the top. I store my memory foam topper in a jumbo space bag in the closet so it's out of the way. I think the mattresses were around $115/each.
