DS1 stayed home from school today complaining of a headache and sore throat. No fever and his throat doesn't look like it does when he has strep, but he is having a hard time swallowing.
No, but his tonsils are naturally huge which apparently makes him more prone to getting strep. We might soon explore the option of tonsillectomy, but I should probably bring that up to his pedi too.
When I was little, apparently I got throat infections literally every month. At some point they deduced that my mom is a carrier of strep and I was just very susceptible to it, which explained my constant infections. She felt so bad when she found that out!
When I was a kid I had a ton of throat infections too and remember going to the doctor often for it. Fast forward to my pregnancy with DS and I am a strep carrier. Guess some people are more prone or carry strep. Bummer.

So sorry cna! One of my good friends had her tonsils removed as an adult because she had strep all of the time. It was life changing. Hugs to DS and you! Hopefully the meds are kicking in!
