We're headed to a St. Patrick's Day party as soon as the little ones are done with their nap, and we're having corned beef sandwiches for dinner. My boys are in green shirts, but somehow I never bought a single green garment for my daughter, so she's wearing a rainbow dress. Good enough!

We wore green shirts today. And my MIL FOR ONCE did not go over the top, and came over with shamrock necklaces that light up and one gold coin for each kid. I was SOOOOO happy she didn't have real gifts and junk food for them. I can't handle celebrating every little holiday.
I was a total Scrooge today. We don't own green clothes, not sure why, we just don't. And I picked up pizza because I had to go out to the hardware store.

DS wore his clover shirt, tie, & cabbie hat today to school. About to have corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, & carrots for dinner (after kiddo is in bed.) Went to our favorite brewery & got a growler of their Irish stout (delicious!) And i made Irish soda bread for the first time. Sampled it earlier & omg I can't wait to dig in!

Next year when dd is older, we will set a trap and I will put a golden dollar coin in it from the leprechaun. I won't trash the living room or get gifts or whatever, but we did it when I was in school and I loved it.
We didn't do anything today. I was mostly just jealous of all the posts from my Boston friends. St Patrick's day is a big deal there. Not so much in Ohio.
Last few years I went all out. We made traps, had the kids follow a map to see if they could catch a leprechaun. I had to work today and didn't do any of it and DD was kind of bummed. Even when I went to make a shamrock shake, my blender was broken and I was out of mint flavouring. But I did manage to have a green beer.
