I did stairs immediately after coming home, we have a split level and there are only 6 stairs to the bedrooms and bathroom. I didn't drive for about 2 weeks, I will let you know how it goes with #2 in about 6 weeks!
For baby # 2 I couldn't drive for 2 weeks. And if I was still taking pain meds then I had to wait until I stopped completely. I only did the stairs to go up to bed and to come down in the morning right away. Very slowly. After about 4/5 days I would go up and down more often. I do think that one of the reasons I was in discomfort for a long time was because I did too much and didn't just rest like I was supposed to. So my advice would be if you can avoid them I would. Next baby, I'm parking it on the couch for a while.

I did stairs immediately after both times. Both times I waited until two weeks to drive. I could have with #1 for sure but dh was home so it was easy to follow.
I did stairs with both kids after about a week. I didn't drive for about two weeks and only because I was heavy duty pain killers not for any other physical reason.
After DS1 I did stairs right away but only to go to bed and come back down. I had to drive one week after to take him to his first check up.
After DS2 I still did stairs but wasn't allowed to pick up DS1 for like 3 weeks. My recovery was more difficult the second time around and was exacerbated by having a second surgery 2 months later.
It's been a long time but I remember doing stairs pretty quickly even though it was slow going. I didn't drive until 2 weeks after and I didn't lift more than the baby.
How long after your c-section did you have to wait to do stairs? Drive? Did it change if it was baby #2?
Any chance this means your going for #3?
We are open to #3, but no immediate plans. I am listening to a coworker piss and moan about not doing stairs and having to sleep in the living room after #3 and how her mommy is taking her first two for a week and then staying with them at their house for another week because there is no way she can do stairs. I just wanted to make sure I'm not being too judgemental.

omg - you're not being too judgmental. What a weirdo. Stairs were no issue with me. Our master bedroom is on the main level and we had DD in a bassinet in our bedroom. I remember the most discomfort being sitting up in the bed to feed her in the middle of the night.

Both my recoveries were easy enough that I was able to get around easily, though I listened to my OB and didn't drive for two weeks. But everyone is different, and I've known other people who have had much more painful and difficult recoveries.
Didn't drive for 2 weeks & did stairs the day I left the hospital because we lived in a 2 story condo & I wanted my bed haha. DH tried to set me up on the couch but I had been in the hospital on bed rest for 4 weeks so I was ready for my room/bed/surroundings.
