I think I've read that you get a year but I'd be pretty surprised to get a thank you 11 months later, although is much rather get it then than not at all.
I got mine out within 6 weeks or so. I just wanted them done.

Ug yeah those should be done quickly. I actually addressed and stamped the envelopes before hand (still do for big events) in an effort to make it easier later and enable me to get them out more quickly.
Yeah, you aren't getting one. I got ours out within 6 weeks but I had dreams about them never being delivered and all of my older relatives talking about how rude it wad that no thank yous were sent out.
I've heard that you have a year to give a couple their wedding gift, so the same one year applies for thank you cards. I had ours out by two months but my circle followed a three month rule.
I usually expect it would take a couple of months. Once I went to a wedding for friends of my BF at the time, and it took almost a full year to get a thank you. When we got it, it was a really fancy card with a professional photo, so they were probably waiting for them as part of their photography package, which is why it took so long. I felt kind of bad when I just tossed it, because they probably spent a lot on them, but why would I keep a photo of those people? I would have preferred a simple thank you note 10 months earlier.

All of this.
I think the latest I've ever gotten one was 6 months after the event.

They celebrated their anniversary 1.5 years ago? So they've been married for 2.5 years?
I have never gotten one from some people. the latest was about 6 months later and it was a professional photo of them on their wedding day, holding a thank you sign. So like pp said, I assume it was part of their package.
