Okay so yesterday morning DD woke up at 2:30a vomiting (we almost made it 2 years without this so I'm sure we're lucky) and I called the on call pedi and she said if she wasn't better by the time the office opened to bring her in. We'll by the time the office opened she threw up 21 times. It was a nightmare and DH was at work so I was solo. She had a low grade fever and no diarrhea.
I called the office and took her and he said it was mostly likely a bug and she would be better within 24 hrs. But said if she was the same today as yesterday he wanted to hospitalize her for fluids. So come yesterday evening she was fine. She was able to eat some crackers and some sips of water. Well FF to today. She woke up at 2:20 a and cried for 3 seconds and fell back asleep. It was hitting 1 PM and I'm worried at this time and had DH wake her up.
We'll when he got her up she had vomited just a little bit (I'm guessing it was when she cried for a second) and slept through it (gag) . Her night diaper was barely damp. She's been able to keep down water and sips of sprite (I know, she never had any soda before but the Dr ordered us to) and has kept it down with maybe a total of 5 crackers today. She has only peed a little but 2 times today.
So she hasn't gotten worse technically but really hasn't improved. Should I call the on call pedi or is this normal with a bug? I've never had one myself so I truly have no idea. Oh, another thing is DD has the worst gas. Like worse than a man. Normal?
That is not a normal stomach bug. Is this the kid w/ Bday 4/11/2013? She is almost 2? It could be a weird bug but that is a LOT of vomiting and the long sleep worries me. I would call b/c tomorrow is Sunday and they are probably closed Sundays so it's a huge pain if you DO need to take her in somewhere. If she is keeping down liquids today that is a very good thing, but when was the last time she pooped? How is she acting? sick, or playing? Does she have stomach pain? Could it be some kind of blockage? Have you been giving liquids consistently and is she perking up at all? Does her mouth/eyes seem dry?

Yes, she's almost 2. She had a tad bit of diarrhea a couple hours ago but nothing since. She napped from about 2-5 this evening and has been okay since. She's having sips of sprite and 2 crackers right now and she'll walk around but not play. She isn't very verbal so she can't tell me if her belly is bothering her but I'll gently push and she doesn't pay attention so I don't think it hurts. I'll just offer her liquids and she'll drink an ounce or two at a time. I turned on the music a little bit ago and she was singing so I think that's good. Her mouth and eyes don't seem dry.
It sounds like she is coming around, then. If she is keeping the liquids down now, she should be okay with dehydration. Don't even worry about food unless she seems interested. If she has no fever, is playing okay/seeming more perky, and keeping liquids down, I think you are okay. For me, a lot depends on how my kids are acting. Really lethargic kids concern me but it sounds like yours is doing better this afternoon. You could always call if you are worried, though. It's better to call than to be worried if there are still things that really concern you. FYI, my doctor said that diarrhea sometimes FOLLOWS vomiting with the stomach bugs in kids so you might still have that to enjoy.

We don't have applesauce but I ended up giving her small thin slices and she had 2 pieces so I let her be done when she was ready. It really did seem to perk her up some though. She smiled the whole time so I hope she'll be okay!
