I'm currently reading The Boys in the Boat by Daniel Brown. It's about the UW's crew team who participated in the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. I know you hate the Huskies, but it is a really inspiring read.
Next up on my "short list" is And Then We Came to the End? by Joshua Ferris. It's supposed to be a good read about office life, told in a funny way.

Another good inspirational book, imo, is The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. It's a memoir, and if you want to feel like being around your ILs could be worse, read this. Jeannette's family life growing up was about as dysfunctional as it gets. It is an amazing read, and although the Walls family has a very tough life, their kids are able to get through it, and most of them are better off at the end.
mkate710 - I'm not an athlete by any stretch of the imagination, but Boys in the Boat almost makes me want to try something athletic, and that's saying something I'm only about 75 pages in right now, and I am hooked. I wish I had more time to just sit down and read 100+ more pages right now.
I'm at loose ends since finishing WoT and the Renton library is currently like this 2 shelf pathetic thing in a strip mall while they renovate the building. So I just picked Hithhiker's Guide to the Galaxy off my shelf as the last book I picked up I've only gone 50 pages in 2 weeks, just totally NMS.

Why not read more Brandon Sanderson stuff? I have some of his stand alone books like Warbreaker and Elantris. I can bring tomorrow
I just finished Paladin's Legacy series. Like five minutes ago.
Hmm... Think this will be enough for a week? Should I grab a few more?
Thanks everyone for the suggestions!! And larzhope Racing in the Rain is one of my all time favorites too. I read the whole thing in about 2 hours sitting on Cannon Beach a few summers ago. So good.

This was a really great book!
I started Goat Boys, but now I'm back into coding books for work
I have a gigantic list of books I want to read. Most recent additions include: The Jazz Bird (a spin on a true story about Cincy bootleggers who owned the building that one of my favorite local breweries is housed in) Nothing is True and Everything is Possible (about Russian propaganda) Rock Breaks Scissors (pseudostatistics) The Favored Daughter (memoir of Afghanistan's first female deputy speaker of parliament)

I read The Passage by Justin Cronin and I loved it. The second in the series, The Twelve, was just as good and I'm waiting for the next. It's a literary post apocalyptic book. Hefty though so I recommend getting on a kindle or nook

Oh yeah, forgot I was going to try Mistborn. Just lazy to get it on hold with the dumb library situation. I own Warbreaker
