One time I stopped to restock our liquor cabinet on the way home. By the time I got home, DH had been alerted to an unusual purchase at the liquor store. He had fun teasing me about my unusual liquor purchase.

We had some fraud on our credit card while we were on vacation. Charges that set off red flags: McDonald's and Wal-Mart. Actually, the Wal-Mart one was actually us. There was no close place to rent snorkeling gear, so we just decided to buy some cheap stuff at the closest place, which happened to be Wal-Mart. But I can just see the cc people thinking, "McDonald's and Wal-Mart?? There's no way this is Liz!"

I got a call from my bank after my card had been used in Canada (and I wasn't in Canada). The charge was $300 at a liquor store and I am SO surprised it got flagged because that's not out of character for me AT ALL, lol. Good thing they didn't use it in the US or I wouldn't have known.

Also, this reminds me of the story about a teen girl buying a pregnancy test and Target sent baby coupons in the mail. The father was pissed at them for sending it but turns out the daughter was pregnant and Target knew before anyone else, lol
We studied this in my class this semester! Big data is no joke.

Oh god Mils. I bought a pregnancy test when I moved to CO and I almost neeeever go to Safeway (but it was the closest) so I always use my brothers loyalty number. Didn't even think of it til we went shopping together a bit later and it gave him a coupon for formula. they are adamant about being CF, so it wasn't because of their purchases and thank god they didn't say anything. I almost died right there.
