At my RE appt today to discuss the RPL test some of the tests didn't come back normal. My thyroid level was elevated (not surprising to me. Almost everyone in my family has hypothyroidism) and one of the test for the lupus/anticoagulant was elevated. So I will start medication for my thyroid and then retest in 6 weeks.
She said that she's not sure if any of this is related to the miscarriages since I have had a healthy pregnancy before without any complications. I will also start taking progesterone supplements around ovulation. So hoping with all of this information I can go on to carry a baby to full term.
Is it wrong that I wanted something to be the cause of the miscarriages? I think I would be more heartbroken if she would have told me that everything was normal and that all of this was unexplained.
I think you are feeling completely normal. I've had 4 early m/c's in the last year and every single one of my tests has come back normal. I desperately wanted something to be wrong so there was something to fix. I hope all those 'fixes' will help you bring home another baby! Good luck!
I think it's a totally normal feeling. I'm also hoping there's something 'wrong but fixable' when they do my RPL testing later next month. I'm glad you have a plan now!
No, I think it's normal that you wanted a reason. That helps with understanding why these things happen rather than "they just do". Plus, it offers more of a straight forward path rather than throwing darts blindly (if you will).
I hope though with the medication for your thyroid and the progesterone your next pregnancy progresses normally and you finally get your take home baby.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
