I bought 2 levolor roman shade from Home Depot, one for my kitchen that faces the back of my house( my yard) and the other for a small bathroom on the first floor that faces the front of my house. They were about $450 for both blinds. I was told when I ordered them that there would be a protective piece of fabric behind the shade fabric to cover the bars in the back so the bars and mechanisms of the shade wouldn't be visible from the street side. They got delivered a few days ago and have no protective fabric on the back. So the bars, which have a satin nickel finish, are exposed. HD is willing to order me a hunter Douglas roman shade ( more money) which has the protective fabric on the back for just about the same price as what I have paid for the levolor. T he problem is that the hunter Douglas roman blind has a thick runner at the top, made of plastic and covered with fabric. The header/ runner looks dated to me. So my question is: do I go with the blind that has visible bars from the street or the one that had a runner/ headed that appears "dated?" Pic below is the levolor blind that I received. This is what would be exposed from the street. ( all window treatments in the rest of the house are white). Next post will have the Hunter Douglas blind. Thank you for your opinions!

The pic of the green roman blind on display is the levolor one that I purchased and the pic of the off white roman blind is the hunter Douglas with the topper/ header
Wrong pic posted of the levolor !! Sorry see next post! ( I don't know how to remove a pic!)
I don't even know what you are talking about on the first picture. I don't think it is going to be very noticeable unless you live in a place where the sidewalk is right up against your house. If you are suburban and sit back from the road, nobody will even notice your curtains from the outside!
Oh good! It seems I am overthinking this... No surprise! I do live in a suburban neighborhood.
