Philly born and raised. Married to a South Philly Italian. It's a sliding board. And GRAVY is anything with meat cooked in it, so if it's RED it's GRAVY because you cook the meatballs or sausage in it. Gravy can be either red or brown.
Okay growing up not only was it called a sliding board but also...wait for it....sliding pond.
Anyone from Northern NJ/ NY/ especially Long Island has to know what a sliding pond is.
the weird thing is, I think that it's not only a regional term but a dated one. Because now I'd just call it a slide. But as a kid it was a sliding pond.
I was born in 71 and from what I've read, the words were mostly used by older generations and people my age were kind of the last people to use board or pond after slide. Kids in the northeast these days just say slide.
I am from li and never ever heard of sliding board or pond only a slide!

Gravy can also be white...biscuits and gravy
True!! I'm not a big biscuits and gravy fan, but i've had a cream gravy on mashed potatoes at the Shady Maple that I'd marry if it was legal.
I just realized I have heard the term 'sliding board' before. In this fine book. Attachment Deleted
Also, it's a 'bubblah'. But, I've had to assimilate to Canadiana and now call it a drinking fountain. But, it's still a bubblah. And, I put jimmies on my ice cream. MA born and bred...
Grew up in NoVa and always called it a slide, never heard anything different. When my DS was a toddler my mom started using the phrase "sliding board" and DH and I were like wtf are you talking about? She never, ever said that when I was a kid. So bizarre. I was concerned she was having some kind of early dementia or something. She swears that's all she ever called it as a kid, but I think it's so strange she called it a slide when I was kid but it's a ssliding board for my kid. She's central PA born and raised fyi.

I'm not sure of you age but it seems age plays a huge factor in it. From what I've read it seems to be those of us in our 40s are the youngest of people who used the word. These days the younger set, even those from the northeast don't use the words. I just call it a slide now but I definitely remember saying sliding board or sliding pond as a kid. I don't know at what point I stopped saying board or pond.
Here's a short article about it. Really such a strange way to refer to a slide. I don't know the origin of it.

We have gravy, brown gravy, and turkey gravy. We don't eat white gravy.

You are missing out! Even my insanely Italian proud "it's gravy damnit" husband enjoys white gravy when i make it.
Lurker chiming in, as a kid it was a sliding board, now it is a slide because I'm lazy. I'm from PA and the dutchie that I repressed has come out since having kids, so yeah, I don't know how much of help I really am to OP.
