Overheard this morning while H was laying on the couch and DD was watching cartoons.
H: (to DD) What kind do you want, watermelon or cherry? DD: What? H: What kind of water ice do you want? Watermelon or cherry? Me: (?) DD: Cherry!! H: Oh, I was dreaming, sorry. Nevermind. DD: I want cherrrry!! H: Ummm, maybe later.
(We live in CA and there's no water ice here.) LOL.
Well that just took five years off my life. DH and I are chatting away in the living room while DS1 plays, then DH jumps up in horror and leaps for DS1. We'd forgotten to replace an outlet cover and DS1 was jamming one of his metal keys (we have an old set he plays with) into the outlet. By some miracle he's perfectly fine. I burst into tears, and I still feel sick while writing this.
The day can only improve from here.
Given your genetics you were probably going to go grey anyway but I think DS1 is definitely going to accelerate the process! Yikes!!!
I was just telling DH how many more greys I have since we've had two kids.
Russian met a girl. An applebees waitress. He's going back to wait patiently in a booth at lunch. Found out because he didn't want to come to college town with me today even though he's been asking for weeks.
At the Dr. waiting for strep results. My tongue is so stiff.
So is this mutual, or did she catch his eye and he is now going to sit in her section to try to strike up a conversation? LOL
I don't rightly know. He's being all stealthy about it..lol...and we know how well his English comes out lately. All he said was, "She works today so I'm going to hang out."
So knowing him, I'm assuming the later.
Which will get him arrested. He's the nicest most harmless kid (And I don't think would ever attempt anything serious) but he comes off as intense. Esp. with the ladies.
My other employee dropped him on his way home and will bring him back when he comes to work tonight. Employee has no idea what's going on exactly either. We figured it's better that way because then we can all claim innocence.

Woke up with a massive sinus headache. Medicated enough to hit the gym but my run was crappy but the second half of my workout was OK. M has been whinny all morning and culminated with a massive meltdown in the bookstore. Basically carried him out shrieking and kicking. Now I am just waiting for his nap. H is going into the office for a few hours and I plan to sit on the couch enjoying the quiet and try to get rid of this headache.
we had a great morning. Swim lessons, egg hunt/Easter event at church, hung out at Barnes and Noble, and then went out to lunch (had a $15 off coupon for Houlihans since it is my birthday month!) Now DD is napping and we are getting stuff done/being lazy (the latter is me).
we have to decide what to do about our lawnmower quickly since the grass is growing now. We've had this electric lawnmower for 2 years and the battery is shot. It overheated and leaked all over our garage and the charger is also corroded now. To replace the battery and the charger would be about $125, which is half the cost of the mower! Reviews of the battery are all saying it crapped out at 1.5-2 years (warranty is only good for 1 year). I'm pissed we only read the reviews of the mower, NOT the battery when we bought it. The mower reviews are solid.
worried if we get another electric mower we'll have the same issue and we had a 50s style reel mower the first 3 years we lived here but sharpening it is a PITA. I think we are going to just get a gas mower and try to pretend we aren't producing a ridiculous amount of emissions...sorry ozone.
I'm hiding from my kids. DH has been at work past dinner /bedtime everyday but 2 for the past 3 weeks. Including weekends. He said he'd be home for dinner tonight and apparently won't. And then when dd1 started whining for a snack, I lost it and am hiding. So tired of solo parenting. I need a break!

We have a corded electric mower that we use for around the house (we also have a riding mower for the 2 acres out front). It's nice that electric mowers are much quieter than gas, in addition to the emissions thing. We have a 100ft extension cord that gets it where it needs to go.
My kid is being so annoying this afternoon! He took a great nap, but is being exceptionally whiny (aka 2 years old). I posted an IG video of his shenanigans - he cried for a good 15 minutes because he wanted to go outside and see the dog poop. ^o)
In better news, my ILs called and asked if he could sleep over. Yes, please!

MIL just called and SIL seems to be in labor! Her contractions are 5 mins apart. They are going into the birth center when they are 3 mins apart.
But she's a first time mom, so who knows how long it could take. And the birth center sends you home after 3 or 4 hours post delivery. So I don't think we'll go there to see them. Maybe to their house tomorrow?
Ahhhh! Either way, it's exciting! I really hope she has the natural birth experience she wants and it all goes smoothly at the birth center. And they aren't sharing the name until he's born. I can't wait to hear what my little nephews name is!
This morning DD1 and I met some friends at this tinkering studio--I have never heard of it before, but it was the coolest thing. They had all kinds of scrap materials set up on low shelves, with small tables and chairs, and kids could just go around and collect what they wanted and build their own projects. It cost $7 and kept DD1 happily busy for nearly 2 hours. She made a merry-go-round and was so proud of herself. Super fun, creative, educational outing for us both.
Then we all went to have pizza for lunch at a restaurant down the street from the studio. On the way back to our car, we passed a cheese shop and I popped in to see what they had--and the first thing I spotted was the best cheese H and I ever had together, at a restaurant in Atlanta probably 6 or 7 years ago. I have looked for it since and even considered ordering it online, but it was never to be found in person and never in stock online when I checked. So, I bought that and another cheese and some salami that will probably be our dinner (plus booze) tonight. H was so excited when I came home and told him.
And DD1 and I got home just in time to catch the start of DD2's nap, so now DD1 is watching the iPad while H and I hang out.
These are all small things because I am really easy to please, but what a great Saturday!

Saw four clients today and one came in for marriage counseling. The husband was really evasive and distant. If he even agrees to come back, it's going to be a tough case.
DD and went out for a sushi lunch. It was so fun to have one on one time and we can split everything since we have the same tastes and she likes to share food. Unlike DH who is like Joey on Friends. Lazy night tonight, pajamas at 3!
