We don't have cable, and we don't use a local antenna either. We are missing out on 30 Rock, which isn't on Hulu Plus for devices, and on anything new. W misses True Blood, and we'd probably watch some other HBO stuff if we still had it.
We have an HD antenna and are really happy with it. We use a HD home run hooked up to Windows Media Center which streams to our xbox (allows us to get local HD over the air that we can record). We also have Netflix and Hulu Plus and HBO Go on the xbox.
H and I pay the $17ish to keep local channels. We tried it with an antenna, but I don't know if we were doing something wrong and it was just operator error, but we were never able to get anything but the snow show (my dad's nickname for static).

Wait ... so do you have a cable subscription? Can you pay for HBO GO separately now?
