I didn't really pay much attention one way or the other, and then I read The Monster of Florence and could not believe the crazy shit that goes down in the Italian legal sytem. The prosecuter in that case was the same prosecuter in the Knox case and he is a legit lunatic. I totally see how once he set his sights on her, and convinced himself that she did it, he could bend the legal system to convict. I am not at all convinced that she did it. There are far more likely suspects.

I think that the prosecutors assertions about the sex play gone wrong are bonkers and don't believe that part for a minute. I suspect she knew a lot more than she has ever said though.
I don't think she killed the girl. I remember being horrified by the sloppy investigation. Evidence was mishandled, no chain of custody, circumstantial, improper DNA tests, language barriers/translators during hours long interrogation...I agree with pp about bending the law to build the case. But I also think she knows more than she let on. TBS, I cant believe she was tried 4 times!

I don't think she killed her, but I agree she knows more than she has said. There is proof she called her mom at 3am that day. It isn't proof of murder but it is suspicious. I think she probably knew the boyfriend did it so she panicked. The sex play gone bad theory was so bizarre.

But with the time difference it would have been like 6 pm where her mom was. She could have stayed up to call her, that isn't unusual when abroad.

no, it was noon Amanda's time and 3am her mom's time. It was before they discovered the body so it was weird to call then. Again, not proof she killed anyone, just weird.

I wouldn't read into her calling her mom at noon in Italy/3 am her time. Maybe her mom works weird shifts at work or they had agreed on that time to call because it worked for both for whatever reason. I know when you're dealing with drastically different time zones a phone call can be hard to schedule, so I don't see how that means anything at all.

I think the entire trial was insane and the Italian judicial system is a farce.
That beings said I have watched enough dateline and law and order to feel confident that something is up with that chick. She gives off some serious Gone Girl vibes.

I thought so, too. But her mother initially told the police that they never talked at that time so she was worried when she called and Amanda says she has no memory of calling at all. It's just weird. Plus, who sees a bloody bathmat and just gets in the shower, anyway? And she admitted she saw it and just ignored it.
Don't get me wrong, I think the investigation was butchered and I'm glad she got off because I don't think there was enough/any real evidence to warrant a conviction but some of the details make me think she's hiding something.

And the prosecutor is definitely nuts.
Okay, wow, I missed all of that lol! Yeah, all of that sounds like at the very least she was using some heavy drugs because none of that sounds like normal behavior.
