My cats had their vet visit yesterday, which included all of their shots. Poor Lucy is not handling it well at all. She was throwing up this morning, so we took her back to the vet where she got an anti-nausea shot and some fluids. She seemed better for a while, but now she's back to hiding in a corner and throwing up. She won't eat or drink anything and hasn't used the litter box.
Ugh, I hate when my kitties aren't feeling well. Any suggestions on what I can do until I can contact the vet again tomorrow?
No suggestions other than lots of cuddles and loves until the vet opens in the morning. I've found that animals and humans can have weird reactions to shots/immunizations from time to time.
Our dogs have gotten their shots every year and one year our yorkie had a weird reaction similar to what you're describing and eventually got over it. We did have to take him in for an IV and it took him a few days to get over it.
My cat did not take well at all to her annual distemper shot in November she was groggy and threw up a few times over the course of about 36 hours after the shot, was fine after that.
