DS puked a few times tonight. I think it is from something he ate earlier. When he was done throwing up, he said he felt better, and has been hungry and his normal self since. I don't have any guidelines for daycare. Is 12 hours enough time between symptoms,or should I keep him at home the whole day tomorrow. DD is battling a tough ear infection and will be home with me tomorrow since I don't think they give meds. I hate having them both home with one not feeling well since they fight over who gets to snuggle with mom.
Aside from following the 24 hour rule that daycare had, I fear DS vomiting at school. I still remember getting sick in the cafeteria in third grade and then learning the word puke from one of the kids teasing me about it on the bus.
If I was staying home anyway, I'd keep him home. Maybe set a timer for who gets your snuggles, or give each one a side.
DS1 has a history of occasionally puking once in the middle of the night (always 3-4AM, oddly), going right back to sleep, and being 100% fine the next day. Sometimes he'll puke the next night, sometimes he won't. His doctor hasn't been able to figure it out. We've gotten the OK from the pediatrician's office and his school to send him the next day when that happens. He acts differently if he's truly sick, and then I keep him home.
