When I started CrossFit 9 months ago, I couldn't overhead squat even the 35# bar. Toward the end of My first full 12 wk strength cycle, I tried to learn to snatch the bar, but it often lead to falling and smashing my shins, which became anxiety producing which increased the falls, etc. I spent the next 8week cycle bagging snatches all together and focused on OH squats and accessory muscle strength. I built up to about 65# on my OH squat.
I'm currently in the last week of another 12 week cycle. I started this cycle snatching the bar with a fair amount of ease. I finally felt comfortable with the movement. Anyhow, long story short, I maxed my squat snatch at 85# today. I was really hoping for 80# and am over the moon excited about 85# . It puts a smile on my face just typing it! While still my weakest lift, it is definitely my most improved.

Girl, those are amazing numbers! And congrats on putting in the hard, boring work to slowly get to - no, past! - where you wanted to be. That's the hardest part sometimes.

Aww! You guys sure know how to make a girl feel good! I'm so glad I backed off on them for two months to get stronger and then revisit them. My upper body, shoulder stability, upper back are my weakest points. It's so fun to know they're getting stronger!
