I am really down right now about the fact that my parents' friends keep dying. I mean, I know no one lives forever and I know that my parents drive me crazy and that I'm not the best at "appreciating" them and all that jazz, but shit. Mortality is devastatingly depressing.
Also, I've known most of their friends my whole life and hate this loss after loss.

Having kind of a down day where I'm really missing my friends back home ( and let's be real, the weather!) and am really frustrated about living here, my weight, how weaning is going... And ugh! Just everything.
I can vouch that the lap shoulder onesies do indeed let you pull down the shirt in event of a poop-splosion. Ick.
Wait. This is exclusively how I change DS's clothes every day. You pull things over your baby's head every day? DS would freak out, and he's pretty mellow otherwise.
M wore onesies for about 15 months, I've never pulled a onesie down instead of up over his head.

Yep. I think I've pulled DD's shirts down instead of up to take them off maybe 3 times. Maybe.

Ugh. I had a random bought of Braxton-Hicks contractions. I'm only 18 weeks! So annoying and uncomfortable. And the heartburn has slowly been starting already too. It's gonna be a long 5 months...

Someone please get my toddler to nap. I might lose it.
Today DD1 (3.5) actually wanted to nap (and is still sleeping) and DD2 then napped for all of a half an hour even though she is obviously still exhausted.

With my last pregnancy, I had extremely intense BHs from about 18 weeks until 24 weeks, then things died down. I even went to L&D one night, convinced I was in labor. These subsequent pregnancies suck.

This is the first time I've ever pulled a onesie down like that. Otherwise it's like a very short game of peekaboo!
DH needs a cavity filled so I called the clinic to see how much a filling is and then insurance to see how much they cover. I was expecting them to cover 80%.
Nope, my insurance (it's through my district) covers fillings including the white composite at 100%. Sweet! I was thinking we were going to be shelling out something like $150 for this next week.
I feel more justified in feeling so run down this week. Just got back from the doc and I have bronchitis and a bladder infection. Fun! I really hope the baby doesn't catch the bronchitis. I have been smothering him in kisses.

My interview today went really well. It doesn't really count though because I know the woman who was interviewing me and we went to lunch after. I don't think I would take if offered, since it would be a major career change that I'm not sure I want.
But I got to practice my question answering skills, which are a little rusty.
I forwarded H a classwide e-mail from C's teacher that I knew he was copied on to point out to him that there is a field trip he can attend next month. He responds to me and tells me to sign him up.
Wouldn't it have been just as easy to respond to the original e-mail and tell the teacher himself?
Feeding DS2 is kind of sucking right now. I keep getting clogs(started lecithin today), I've been sick so my supply went down, and he has been eating almost every hour at night for a week. I think his cold is almost done so hopefully he'll go back to only getting up three times a night (funny how that looks good all of a sudden). Work is super busy right now too so I just want to crawl into bed and sleep for a week.
Oh, and DH has a cold (the same one we've all had but he has started calling his Ebola). My patience is thin.

Oh, OH AND yesterday I was informed that if I want to go back to teaching where I am now, I have to reapply, reinterview, all of it. No "credit" so to speak for teaching for four years and for still being an active full-time employee. So even my fallback isn't a fallback anymore.
212 and anna7602 and other NYC moms- is there any service where I can rent a PNP or other baby gear? We will be in NYC for a few nights at the end of April. Looking into renting via Air BNB - any neighborhood recs? DH has a meeting in Brooklyn. Other ideas for NYC with a 9 month old?

Where in Brooklyn? I'm in Williamsburg, and know tons of baby friendly stuff around here. A lot of the moms here also rent out their apts when they travel, so you could possibly stay somewhere that will come with a crib/etc for you to use.

Thank you!! I'm not sure exactly where his meeting is, but we are open to various areas. I'll look at Williamsburg- a place with a crib or gear would be ideal

I'm happy to loan out whatever you need-- don't pay for it. What will you need?

Oh goodness- that is too kind! I wouldn't want to make any hassle for you. DH will be there before we arrive so he could probably do the running around?
It looks like we are staying in Park Slope. I am mainly looking for a PNP or travel bed of some sort. I still have to think through the car seat/stroller situation but will probably just fly with those? She still fits in the bucket seat so maybe I can check that and gate check the CGMT? I flew with her 6 times on ML (<3m) but not since then.

I definitely have a pnp (Lotus) you can have. My infant car seat is currently out on loan or I'd offer that, but I could probably get it back for a few days. My "lightweight" stroller is the Bugaboo Bee. Let me know what else you're thinking.

Thank you! I will pm you as it gets closer- gear aside, I'd love to meet up anyway
