How cooped up do you stay when your child has pink eye? The dr said it isn't likely pink eye but if it drains discharge during the day and becomes pink then it has turned into pink eye. More discharge (still not a lot but it had some a few times yesterday during the afternoon) but it isn't pink. I am thinking we will pick up the antibiotics and start them today just to be safe. Dd isn't going to preschool today but will return tomorrow.
Would I be an awful person for taking her to the beach? She is four. Did pretty well about not touching her face yesterday and when she did she washed her hands right away.
I think the beach would be ok since there isn't much communal touching.
Does she feel up to it? When I have had pink eye bright sunlight and glare irritated it more.
Yesterday after the dr said it wasn't likely pink eye we went to the lakes and fed the ducks and played on the playground. She didn't seem bothered by the sun at all. I will bring a hat and sunglasses though.

If the doctor didn't think it was pink eye id continue out normal activities. Eye goop isn't always contagious. It can come from a mild cold or allergies which are starting now. If it were pink eye i would keep home for 48 hours on antibiotics.
