Saw my RE last Friday too. She feels that everything post surgery looks pretty good. She gave us the option of taking 6 months to try on our own or start moving to IVF. We are skipping IUI because of the blockage I had in my tube that is now clear, but will likely recur.
Anywho, we agreed to start IVF at the end of June when school is over so I don't have to take any more time off. This will give us a few cycles to try on our own and then we'll start the process. I was sent home with a giant stack of paperwork that DH and I need to read and then we'll go in to sign it and get meds, etc. set up.
I'm feeling better about this then when we first talked IVF at my very first RE appt. I think having the info from my surgery and knowing that I will likely need a full hysterectomy in the next few years makes me feel like my time is limited and if I want a shot at being pregnant (vs. jumping to adoption) now is the time. I might not have the option later. She actually hopes to get enough eggs this time so we have some left over for a future pregnancy in case I have to have my remaining ovary removed sooner.
So all in all, I'm feeling ok. This process seems to be moving a little slower for us that it has for some others, but I'm kind of ok with that.
Thanks everyone. The nurse called today to start scheduling stuff and HOLY CRAP!!! there are going to be so many appts. and things to do. Trying to mentally prep myself. Lol.
