I was told by someone last week that I was "dumber than Lorelai". Same poster who "traded her" for Charley. Not sure their beef, but it seems like there's some background drama I'm too dumb to figure out.
Yeah it's true though. I thought liubella was dumb for saying auntie was vino and now I have to go back and see why I thought Lorelei was dumb.
Which, in retrospect, it was a dumb comment (on my part), but I did think the delivery was abnormally harsh in the context it was used. I didn't think Lorelai or I were known for being idiots.
I was all psyched that I was off the hook, but I see I told Lorelai she overreacted in that post too. Which I'd forgotten.
Maybe it IS my fault. I've never caused a deactivation or intended to. If I did, I'm sad that instead of feeling a sense of victory, I feel a sense of deep confusion.
I've had 5 more "like" notifications for the twins pic I posted in the OMFG thread since this thread was made. I thought I posted it in an almost dead thread.
Also, I don't even need to mine the depths of my amazing Nest-memory to inform you all that Lorelai was a dummy. That nugget o' knowledge is sitting right there on the surface.
Too many posters have had screennames/avatars/obsessions involving that lorelai character. It's confusing.
After i/lmoan I have an irrational, automatic disdain for anyone with an even remote connection to Gilmore Girls, which is sad, because I liked Gilmore Girls.
Thank you for using this word correctly. Another irrational disdain I have is for people who use penultimate to mean, "really, very [insert adjective here]. I lectured Deval Patrick for doing this once.

I've never heard anyone use penultimate that way. I would be sad if I did, it's one of my favorite words. So much so that I looked up the words for third to last, fourth to last and fifth to last
Deval Patrick used it to describe the Big Dig, as in (I don't mean to imply this a direct quote, just a paraphrase) "The Big Dig was the country's penultimate construction project." No. It wasn't.
I never knew what penultimate meant until now. Why did I think it meant like.. a combo of pinnacle and ultimate? lol. Like the final touch, the capstone.
I'm kind of sad now. It's just a fancy word for next-to-last. (wilted)
I don't think anyone here would blame you for deactivating. People really need to think about how their words can affect others.
THERE ARE REAL FUCKING PEOPLE BEHIND THESE SCREENS!!!!

That's what my pal Deval thought, too, and he just turned down $7500/day gig (not the gig, just the payment) so I guess he's doing okay. There's hope for you, yet.
