My boss is trying to argue that "One, simple dose" is correct grammar over "One simple dose."
What am I missing here???
You use a comma between two adjectives that describe a noun equally, particularly if you can add "and" between them without being syntactically incorrect. In this case, you are right and your boss is wrong.
L slept 11 hours straight last night! And then she woke up and was sitting up in her crib, holding her lovey (which is a puppy) and barking. I went in to get her and she looked at me like lol. It was adorable.
My legs are sore from my run last night but its a good sore. We booked a vacation to Hawaii for June and it's keeping me motivated to work out. We haven't been on vacation since our honeymoon almost four years ago and I'm so looking forward to it.
meganew - Aw poor Ollie - that would make me sad too =(
2 more days of work till the long weekend & I have Monday off too, so I am looking forward to this weekend. Although most of this weekend should be spent studying. Whatever, we will see.
PDQ and this is probably a bit flame worthy. I am a little irked at my SIL. She (SIL1) texted H and said that she is putting together a gift for SIL2 for her wedding anniversary and wants us to pitch in $250 so we can get them wood for their wood burning stove for next winter. Apparently they had a "really rough" winter and so she wants to get them wood for NEXT winter. DH said that was a lot of money for wood and it's not really in the budget but we would discuss it tonight and get back to her. Apparently that wasnt a good enough response so SIL1 then decided to text me all day yesterday at work. I told her I need to speak to DH and would get back to her later and she told me that apparently DH told her to just ask me (which was a lie). First of all, we have been burnt so many times when it comes to gifts from both of DH's sisters, and DH decided that the only gifts we will be buying are for his nieces now. I know bygones be bygones and you dont give a gift to receive, but asking for $250 for a anniversary gift when SIL1 gave us $40 for our wedding and SIL2 didnt gift us anything is pushing it. And also the fact that they know DH doesnt work much over the winter and we have his tuition and so many other expenses right now. I wouldnt be as annoyed if she just dropped it when we said we would get back to her instead of trying to guilt us into it and telling us "we can go in, but you can just pay as back after, as long as you PROMISE to pay us back", like we had borrowed money from her ever before or something.
Your SIL is being ridiculous. I don't even remember other peoples anniversaries, let alone buy really expensive gifts for them. Other than having a party for a milestone anniversary, I think anniversaries are just for the couple.
DS1 (7) is working with a urologist for accidents/bed wetting. The urologist put him on an elimination diet to see if any foods are contributing to his problems, so he cant have any sugar, citrus, melon and only one serving of dairy per day. This is so hard for a 7 year-old! I hate seeing him so sad about it. Easter is going to be so hard for him. Luckily, I don't normally put a lot of candy in their baskets anyway, but he's getting none now. If anyone else has had to do this and has any advice or recipe suggestions, please share!
We are moving in 10 days and I don't want to pack up any more shit. I just want to wave my magic wand and WALLA have it all be done. In 2 closets yesterday, I generated 5 bags of trash. HTF do you generate 5 bags of trash(!!!) in 2 closets?!?!
Honestly, can't I just go play blackjack? Or shopping? Or drink at a bar? Somehow I don't think any of that will be at all productive re: getting this house packed up.
1. My husband reminded me about April's Fool's Day before he left for work because "I know you get upset." LOL lol lol! He knows me.
2. I am wearing a v-neck dress. I have a bug bite (I think? It itches) on my chest sort of by my sternum. Which I didn't realize. It's neatly framed by the v-neck. I am self-conscious.
meganew - Aw poor Ollie - that would make me sad too =(

Thanks. I though maybe I was being an overprotective mom or something, but it is sad! Lol.
And your SIL is being ridiculous. I would just tell them no and not respond to anything else. We don't even buy anniversary gifts for each other, I couldn't imagine spending that much on someone else!
Ah, I thought I saw you (mofongo) post about a Golf a few days ago! A 2000 Golf was the first car I bought myself and I loved it. I miss my sunroof! Enjoy your new car!

after 2 years of not being able to wear my rings I finally caved and had them re-sized. it cost me a nauseating amount but I love having them back again
My dd told my mom that we were going to a meeting to learn about our local foster care program. I really wish she didn't tell her, because now my mom is starting to tell close family members (after I told her NOT to). ugh.
We bought the girls April Fool's cupcakes last night from a local bakery - they are SO cute. They look like spaghetti/meatballs, snowcones, sand, chili, dog food, and there is one that they call 'unicorn poop' that will for sure give them technicolor shit because it's so bright. ha ha ha.

Someone is giving away a used positive pregnancy test for April Fools' Day on my neighborhood FB garage sale page. Apparently I'm the only one who thinks it's disgusting because everyone is commenting how funny it is.
My kid has ringworm. Does that mean we are disgusting?
No, but it's tough to get rid of. Lots of sheet washing in hot, lots of bleaching, vacuuming, wiping. Do you have animals? They get it too.
Also try to keep it covered. I used big bandaids over the tinactin to keep it from spreading and it was gone entirely in a week or so (w all the stuff Sue said, washing everything).
And now I'm going to complain... I can't decide if I want to make this Sunday my last day of work or keep going. I wish I had some idea of when he's going to come out. If he's late, I don't want to waste my leave just hanging around, but I'm also really tired and just done with work. My job is too physically demanding at this point.
Are you getting STD benefits for your leave? They may not count this time against your maternity leave if your doctor writes you out. I found this out way too late :-)
I feel awful. Both DH and I were up all night with gas pains. I'm attributing it to dinner. He feels better, but I do not. Gas pains are gone, but I definitely feel a bit nauseous. It super sucks b/c I have tickets to Kinky Boots tonight and we're going to a new Mexican restaurant that looks really good. I was really looking forward to lobster and shrimp enchiladas and now they sound horrible
I pushed myself last night to get 3 miles in to hit my running goal for March, and gave myself the first twinges of shin splints. Dammit.
I'm on day 3 of having NOTHING to do at work. It is the oddest lull at our company right now. Daycare is closed on Friday so at least I only have to show up here one more day.
